Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will get a new map ‘Vondel’ in Season 4

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has had two primary maps since its release last year in November. The first was Al Mazrah, and the second was Ashika Land.

One prominent Call of Duty leaker, TaskForceLeak, had confirmed that Vondel, a map based in the Netherlands will be included. Now, CharlieIntel, another leaker, has confirmed that the Vondel Map will be included in Warzone 2 as a part of Season 4, which commences on June 14th

In the same tweet, CharlieINTEL confirmed that the new map, Vondel, was developed by Beenox. The map will primarily support the Resurgence game mode at first.

The map Vondel is probably named and based on Vondelpark in Amsterdam, which gets its name from the 17th-century Dutch poet Joost van den Vondel.

The leakers, TaskForceLeak, had accompanied the initial rumors with a placeholder image from one of the data mines. It showed an urban area with a windmill next to a river, which some fans felt resembled Amsterdam to some extent.

The developers of this map, Quebec-based Beenox, are no strangers to the standards expected by a Call of Duty map. They have earlier worked on the famous Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 remake.

They had also worked on the Rebirth Island map in the first edition of Call of Duty: Warzone. They have their hands full with Call of Duty: Warzone mobile, on track for a 2023 launch.

Although Warzone 2 had a rocky start, it’s starting to claw its way back up. At one point, the number of concurrent gamers had reduced to less than 100,000.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2’s Season 4 will look to revive the interest of the players and bring the game back to its glory. We will only know for sure when the new Season drops on June 14th.
