Call of Duty’s new-gen Modern Warfare series is based on the same characters as the original. It is, however, more gruesome and intricate than ever before.
A Zombie Ghost Operator Skin is available with the pre-order of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Fans speculate that this could hint towards Ghost’s death in Modern Warfare III.
While it’s also possible that the Zombie Ghost operator skin could be just in celebration of the open-world Zombie mode coming to Modern Warfare III, players are thinking of ways in which their beloved character, Ghost, could bid farewell to the franchise, yet again.
This is because players had to deal with death of Ghost in the original Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. Ghost was killed by General Shepherd, who shot Ghost and his team in a shocking turn of events.
Fans of the franchise and the veterans who have played Call of Duty expect a similar fate to befall Ghost in the upcoming Modern Warfare III.

Ghost was also not featured in the cinematic trailer for the Zombies mode of MWIII. This could be because he has not been recruited yet to Task Force 141 or is on a mission elsewhere.
This is a plausible explanation as the events of the Zombies mode are confirmed to take place between the events of Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare II.
This virtually confirms, as expected, that Ghost will not be dying in the Zombies Mode. If at all his death is being planned upon, he might die in the campaign mode.
His death might come at the hands of Vladimir Makarov, who is set to return to the Call of Duty franchise in Modern Warfare III. Makarov, undoubtedly, is one of the scariest villains in the CoD universe.
From his “No Russian” terrorist attack to the bombing of Paris and the subsequent death of Soap, Makarov is a character that seasoned players will not take lightly.
Makarov’s fierce rivalry with Captain Price may be intensified by Ghost’s death this time instead of Soap’s. Being Soap’s mentor, Ghost might go down a new path, which could pave the way to a great sequel.
Combined with the fact that none of the other Task Force 141 members got a zombified skin, this could foreshadow that Ghost could die. Players will find out soon when Modern Warfare III releases on November 10th.
