The poor gameplay of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is widely evident, with most of the fanbase united on their stance that Sledgehammer has rushed the title, providing a sub-par experience at best.
Recently, a point of debate was the Groot-like “Gaia” skin for Operator Nila “Nova” Brown in Call of Duty Modern Warfare III. As a part of a Q&A session on Reddit, developers Sledgehammer Games have announced that the Gaia and Gaia Blackcell operator skins will be removed temporarily in a future update until the visibility issues are fixed.
The Gaia skin resembles a tree-like humanoid, closely resembling Marvel’s beloved character Groot. However, the love seems to be lost on the players.
Because of the Gaia operator’s skin’s design based on nature, players who have equipped the skin become very hard to spot, especially amongst the bushes and trees in the wild.
As a result, many players have complained that this skin, instead of purely cosmetic, lends some undue advantage to the player equipping it. This resulted in many players asking Sledgehammer to turn off the skin or fix it so that it does not provide any undue advantage.
The opposition to this, i.e., the players who love the skin, suggests that the complaints are by players with serious “skill issues.” It will be interesting to see what visual changes are made to the Gaia operator skin when reintroduced.
The new update, meanwhile, gives the player a breath of fresh air and eases Sledgehammer’s mistakes from the Halloween special Haunting event.
The future does not seem that bright for Call of Duty Modern Warfare III. However, the developers are trying to make it an enjoyable experience and overcome the reputation of being the worst-rated Call of Duty game to date.
