CoD: Black Ops Cold War Might Bring Back 2 Classic Maps for Season 3

Not much is known regarding content for Call of Duty: BlackOps Cold War Season 3. But according to a leaker, two fan-favourite maps, Echelon and Standoff, could be returning to the game as possible 6v6 set-ups.

While Treyarch has only confirmed the return of the 1980s Verdansk map in its teaser, fans have been wondering what Season 3 has in store for traditional multiplayer. To that effect, leaker TheGhostMW has tweeted some potential information.

With the requests for multiplayer content steadily increasing, the fact that Treyarch could be bringing back two iconic maps is definitely exciting.

However, as none of this is confirmed, fans should try not to get too excited. Additionally, TheGhostMW themselves have also warned that the leak is not from their usual source so the update should definitely be taken with a grain of salt.

Echelon is said to be a completely new map which has been in the game’s code since Season 1. Rumored to take place on the roof of a building site, the map has been compared to CoD: Black Ops 2’s Vertigo map. In fact, some insiders have stated that it could be a reimagining of that same map.

Standoff, on the other hand, is familiar territory and is widely regarded as one of the best CoD maps of all time. One of the launch maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the map saw players fighting their way through a rural town.

The map has since gone one to appear in Call of Duty Mobile and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3; the latter appearance taking on a western theme. With Raid and Express having a large and dedicated fan base, Standoff is bound to receive a rousing welcome if/when it arrives.

While the maps will reportedly arrive with Season 3, it’s important to note that they could come as a part of the midseason update instead. But, as mentioned previously, let’s try to not get excited until Treyarch sends out a confirmation on things.
