Clues and Riddles is a main storyline quest in the Glowecestre city of Glowecestrescire region in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This quest begins immediately after “The First Night of Samhain” quest where Eivor wakes up with a hangover and blood on his hands after a night of drinking, and he must find out what happened to Tewdwr after his bloody disappearance.
Clues and Riddles is a straightforward three-part quest. But unfortunately, because of a major bug that prevents players from interacting with the druid Halewyn, this mission has become frustrating and impossible to complete for many.
Ubisoft has officially fixed the “Clues and Riddle” quest progression bug in the update TU 1.2.1 of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Players can now interact with druid Halewyn while equipping a cloak throughout their interaction with him and complete the quest.
Always ensure that your game is up to date to avoid glitches and bugs. If you are running the latest version of the game and still having trouble interacting with the druid, here is how to fix it.
Finding Halewyn and Burning the Wicker Men
Druid Halewyn’s hut is located near a large lake in the eastern part of Glowecestrescire and to the west of the Cearrwell and Great Ouse Rivers crossing.
After talking to Modron, head over to Halewyn’s hut. Make sure you have equipped the cloak with Mari Lwyd mask before knocking on his door.
Press G on your keyboard or hold down on the D-pad and choose the cloak icon on your controller to equip it. Now, you can interact with the door.
Halewyn will come out of his hut and start performing a ritual. Use your torches to light up the five (5) wicker men in front of the hut to help him in his ritual.
Throw the torch onto the elevated wicker man or the one hanging from the tree to burn them. Once all the wicker men are ablaze, talk to Halewyn.
Collecting the Clues and Concluding the Quest
Now, you have to search for six (6) clues around or inside the druid’s house.
First clue (Celtic Knot): Interact with the symbol drawn on the left door of the druid’s hut while facing north.
Second clue (Soul Skulls): Interact with the skulls kept on the right side of the hut while facing north.
Third Clue (Athame Dagger): Interact with the dagger behind the main door of druid’s hut.
Fourth clue (Threefold Death): Interact with the doll sitting on the table inside the hut.
Fifth clue (Double Spoon): Interact with the ladles next to the grave under the hut. You can jump down from the hole in the hut’s floor to reach this location.
Sixth clue (Sabrina of the Seven): Jump into the lake behind the druid’s hut and interact with the stone statue there.
Your disguise will fall off after you jump into the lake, so make sure to equip the cloak with Mari Lwyd mask back again to interact with the druid.
Approach Halewyn one last time and answer his questions with the clues you just found.
Once you are done talking to the druid, the quest “Clues and Riddles” will be completed, and you will be rewarded 5,100XP.
