You might have seen some red vines or heavy vines across areas and chests in God of War: Ragnarok. You will soon find out that the Blades of Chaos are of no use against them. Well, here’s how you can tackle the vines instead with just a few simple steps.
How to remove the Red Vines
In ‘The Reckoning,’ after the boss fight with Nidhogg, you will receive an Amulet, a unique item with expandable Enchantment slots. Just a few meters ahead, look out for a Frozen Flame upgrade and pick it up.
After obtaining the Amulet, follow these instructions:
- Follow Freya to reach the red vines wall.
- Aim at the vines, and command Freya to Hex the bramble with a Sigil Arrow.
- After that, equip the Blades of Chaos and ignite the fungus.
- Using the newly obtained Sigil Arrows, you can clear some more red vines which are lying around.
There’s a small ledge nearby, just right of it, you will notice some more red vines around a glowing Red Coffin. Clear the vines surrounding it and you can find some Stonewood and Hacksilver.
Sigil Arrows
Sigil Arrows are powerful weapons which can enhance the magical skills of Kratos’ weapons, namely, the fire of Blades of Chaos and the ice of Leviathan Axe. You can use them for fiery or icy explosions or hit odd angles. The arrows can be obtained towards the end of Vanaheim; it is a part of the main plot line so don’t worry about missing it.
Other than its magical abilities, you can use the Sigil Arrows to destroy the red vines creeping around pathways and walls. Turns out, with the appropriate weapon, these stubborn red vines are unlike any other!
