The anime film was previously announced in April of this year with a special teaser. It will follow up on the 2019 City Hunter film “Shinjuku Private Eyes”. Moreover, it will also commemorate the thirty-fifth anniversary of the anime series.
The main voice cast for the series is also set to return. Here is the list:
Character | Character Voice |
Ryo Saeba | Akira Kamiya |
Kaori Makimura | Kazue Ikura |
Saeko Nogami | Harumi Ichiryusai |
Umibozu | Tessho Genda |
Miki | Mami Koyama |
While the visual does reveal that the movie will adapt the final chapter, it is unclear if the movie will fully adapt it. The words “The Final Chapter Begins” could also mean a few more installments in the future, which would conclude the story.
This might also mean the franchise’s end altogether, but it is way too soon to tell. Either way, we still have Angel Heart with us, so even if City Hunter decides to end, we hope it adapts the spinoff instead.
All previous installments of City Hunter are streamable on Crunchyroll.
