Christopher Judge, who lends his voice to the character of Kratos in the God of War video game, comments on the potential casting of Dave Bautista as Kratos in the game’s live-action adaptation.
The first version of God of War was released back in 2005. The game focused on a Spartan warrior, Kratos, who was betrayed by the Greek god of war, Ares, who made him murder his own family. He then decides to take revenge on Ares, and ultimately dethrones him to become the next God of War.
The game primarily dealt with Greek mythology until 2018, when it was rebooted. It reintroduced Kratos as the father of a special kid called Atreus, shifting its premise to Norse mythology. The upcoming Amazon Prime Video live-action series, based on the game, will most likely focus on this new story.
The voice actor for Kratos, Christopher Judge, recently made a funny comment on Twitter about the fan-casting of Dave Bautista as Kratos in the upcoming adaptation. Check out the tweet below –
From his remark, it looks like Judge does not mind anyone else playing the role of Kratos on screen. If not Judge, Bautista can fit into the role of Kratos quite well.
Bautista began his career as a wrestler in the WWE, before he moved on to become an actor. He shot to fame with the role of Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. He has also been a part of films such as Dune, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and Blade Runner 2049.
Considering his experience as an actor, he could prove to be a good fit for Kratos’ personality in the God of War live-action adaptation. The upcoming series is still in the early stages of development, so not much is known about the series.
Let’s hope that Amazon Prime Video casts someone who will perfectly suit the role of Kratos and will also be able to play the role of a father with equal conviction.
