Hayden Christensen is returning to Star Wars to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker AKA Darth Vader in the upcoming series Obi-Wan Kenobi, twenty years after his debut in the Star Wars saga.
Fans are in for a delight as fan-favorites Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, and even Temuera Morrison (Captain Cody) are all set to return with the series this Friday.
The series has generated a lot of interest, especially because of a confirmed rematch between Darth Vader and his former ally, the Jedi Master. Though there are rumors that Darth Vader might appear in Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s Ahsoka, there is no word yet on when or if fans will see MacGregor or Christensen again in the franchise.
The Rosario Dawson-led series is yet another Star Wars show featuring Ahsoka Tano, a fan favorite, on Disney+, announced in December 2020.
Hayden Christensen has, however, shrugged off rumors about Darth Vader’s appearance in Ahsoka.
While McGregor remained silent on the question, Christensen was adamant that he didn’t know anything about the matter, claiming he was unaware of the happenings of the series in a press round with Capital FM.
I don’t know, I can’t really speak to the Ahsoka series. I don’t know about that one.

It is possible that the events in the upcoming Ahsoka series take place after the original trilogy timeline and the death of Darth Vader. As a result, Christensen can still be involved in the project in a couple of ways, maybe in flashbacks. Alternatively, the former Jedi Master and Padawan could reconnect with Anakin Skywalker as a Ghost Force.
The fact that Lucasfilm has already brought Christensen back has led to theories of future appearances of the actor. Not only would it bring back a fan-favorite character but the plot of Ahsoka might also benefit from the appearance of Vader, especially as Anakin.
For now, fans can watch the character on Obi-Wan Kenobi, releasing this Friday on Disney+.
