Chris Pratt’s April Fool’s Prank is the Greatest Nightmare for Disney Fans

Chris Pratt’s April Fool’s Day prank has caused quite a stir among Disney fans. Several fans think it is his way to get back at fans who criticized him for Super Mario Bros.

Pratt is widely recognized for his roles in the Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy film series and has also lent his voice to various projects, such as The Lego Movie and Onward. 

Nevertheless, his casting as the voice of Mario in the forthcoming Super Mario Bros. movie faced much criticism from fans who doubted his suitability for the part.

On April Fool’s Day, Pratt played a prank on his followers by posting on Instagram and jokingly announcing that he had secured the role of Mickey’s voice in a forthcoming movie adaptation of the iconic Disney character.

Naturally, most of his fans could see through the prank. It would be improbable for him to disclose his involvement in the movie before Disney’s official announcement, especially since there hasn’t been a Mickey Mouse full-length feature film in almost ten years. 

Nevertheless, he still succeeded in deceiving a few fans with the gag and instilled a new fear among Disney enthusiasts.

Pratt’s April Fool’s Day prank was quite ingenious, allowing him to join in on the fun while also poking fun at the criticism he has faced for his voice acting. As we pointed out, Pratt has received a lot of negative feedback for his role in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

This is because Mario has been around for over four decades and has a passionate fan base who wants to see him portrayed accurately, including his signature Italian accent.

Numerous fans of The Super Mario Bros. Movie are advocating for an Italian actor, or even Charles Martinet, the original game actor, to portray the role of Mario. 

The issue here concerns more than just Chris Pratt’s dissimilarity to Mario’s voice but also about prioritizing celebrity status over genuineness and neglecting proficient voice actors in favor of famous Hollywood actors. Despite the criticisms, Chris Pratt and The Super Mario Bros. Movie directors have defended the casting decision.

Pratt has recently spoken up about the controversy surrounding his role as the voice actor for Mario in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie. 

He acknowledged fans’ concerns and validated their feelings while urging them to wait until they see the film before forming an opinion. Pratt promised that the movie would do justice to Mario, but he also used humor to alleviate some of the backlash. 

By pointing out what a genuinely terrible casting choice would be, he may have made his own role as Mario seem more acceptable. Two birds in one shot!
