A new actor is becoming a part of Walker, the reboot of Walker Texas Ranger, that is scheduled to release in 2021. Split Lip actor Chris Labadie is joining the Jared Padalecki-starrer as a recurring character called Jordan. Labadie’s character is a tough guy and a former convict who is in the Green Thumb and Grace program. He is also involved in a heroin smuggling operation and will be a constant source of irritation to Walker.
If you were born in the 1990s, chances are that you have definitely heard of Walker Texas Ranger. The show is a cult classic that remains popular nearly twenty years after its end. Its righteous attitude and generous use of martial arts made the show a household name and actor Chuck Norris became synonymous with the protagonist Cordell Walker.
In late 2019, The CW announced that a reboot of Walker was in production. The network had revealed that the new show would also have a different story with new characters besides Cordell Walker. The 2021 series will have Walker coming back to Texas as a widower and father of two children. After two years undercover in a high-profile case, he realizes that his own town needs help and concentrates on that.
Jared Padalecki, who is set to star as Walker in the reboot, will be coming off from his iconic role as Sam Winchester in Supernatural. The show also stars Lindsey Morgan as Micki, Walker’s tough partner and Keegan Allen as Walker’s gay brother and the Assistant District Attorney.
Walker is set to debut on January 21st, 2021, on The CW.
