If you’re a BL enthusiast, a fan of romantic comedies, or simply looking for a heartwarming story with a dash of fantasy, ‘Cherry Magic’ is the perfect anime for you.
Its blend of genres and relatable themes makes it appealing to most, and the unique theme is probably why it is such a big hit among fans. When I read the manga, I couldn’t wait for it to be animated; the time is finally here!
The First episode of Cherry Magic: Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! It was released on 11th January. After watching the episode, I had a lot of questions about how many episodes the anime would have, what chapters it would be based on, and so forth.
I quickly went to research mode, so you don’t have to, and here’s everything you need to know about ‘Cherry Magic: Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!’
The Basics: Number of Episodes, Cast, and more
An upcoming Anime adaptation of Cherry Magic was announced in July 2023, and finally, after what seemed like an eternity, on 11th January 2024, the anime’s first episode was released.
The anime will have 12 24-minute episodes, as is standard for any anime adaptation. The anime has the following cast:
- Chiaki Kobayashi as Kiyoshi Adachi
- Ryouta Suzuki as Yuuichi Kurosawa
- Makoto Furukawa as Masato Tsuge
- Gen Satou as Minato Wataya
Fans of the series can watch it on Crunchyroll with a subscription or with a free trial.
Plot
The series follows Adachi, a thirty-year-old virgin (sigh, the struggle is real) who has developed the power to read people’s minds by touching them. After a brush with his very handsome colleague, Kurosawa, Adachi realizes the guy has a raging crush on none other than Adachi himself!
Seeing the first episode had the first 3 chapters of the manga. The 12-episode series will have the first 36 chapters of the manga.
This means 12 glorious episodes of Adachi and Kurosawa’s fumbling, adorable romance. Fingers crossed for extended confession scenes, heartfelt monologues, and maybe even a tear-jerking proposal under a sky full of cherry blossoms.
Can we expect a season two?
As the manga is ongoing and the current season only consists of the first 36 chapters, there will be enough source material for at least one more season of Cherry Blossom.
The rest depends upon how well-liked this season is taken by the fans because, no matter how much source material is there, the studio may scratch off season two if this season doesn’t get a good response from us.
About Cherry Magic
Thirty years old and a virgin, Adachi has gained a simple kind of magic – he is able to read the mind of anyone he touches.
Not knowing what to do with this magic, one day, he reads the mind of his capable, handsome coworker, Kurosawa, and finds out that Kurosawa’s heart is only filled with thoughts of him?!
Kurosawa is single-minded in continuing to think of Adachi, who is overwhelmed with Kurosawa’s thoughts of love and kindness toward him.
