Following the release of the first demo for Resident Village, developers Capcom, to nobody’s surprise, went on to release a second 30-minute demo that focused on exploring Castle Dimitrescu. Like in the case of the first demo, the second demo has spawned a whole range of comparison videos.
In their video on YouTube, ElAnalistaDeBits does an in-depth technical analysis of the ‘Castle Demo’ and how it performs on both the PS4 and the PS5.
Unsurprisingly, the demo ran much faster on the PS5 taking only 3 seconds to load. The PS4 and PS4 Pro, on the other hand, took a whole 30 seconds to load making their new-gen brother a crazy 10-times faster. Another highlight on the PS5 is that several of the console’s new features such as 3D audio, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers, are well-integrated into the game.
The PS5 also takes full advantage of it’s ray tracing capabilities and projects the environments of the game significantly better than the PS4(s).
However, there is one surprising takeaway from the video: the PS4 clocked 60 fps quite a few times just like the PS5. This is great news for PS4 owners as they will get to enjoy the same level of immersion as players on the PS5; big props to the RE engine for that.
Along with all the previously mentioned enhancements coming for PS5, RE Village will also be coming with gyro controls which should give players added freedom of movement in the game. Combined with the PS5’s beefy internals, players will be getting a truly next-gen experience with RE Village which will be the first major title to make full use of the PS5’s potential.
As of now the demos have been made available only for PlayStation consoles. For players on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia, the first demo will go live on May 1 for North America and May 2 for Europe/Asia.
