One of the reviewers at CPU-Z submitted a report of AMD’s upcoming 8-core “Raphael” Ryzen 7 7700X CPU. The entry has been removed since, but watchful hardware enthusiasts were quick to capture the results.
The listing reported all eight cores of the Ryzen 7 7700X were running at the same frequency of 5425 MHz which is 25 MHz more than the official turbo clock for the Zen 4 processor.
The CPU was tested on the Gigabyte X670E AORUS Master motherboard with DDR5-6400 CL30 memory. The processor scored 774 points and 8381 points in single-thread and multi-thread CPU-Z tests.
For comparison, the Ryzen 7 7700X is 21% faster than the Ryzen 7 5800X, which features eight cores and Zen 3 architecture, and 20% faster than the Ryzen 9 5950X, featuring sixteen cores and Zen 3 architecture, in single-thread tests.
However, the Ryzen 7 7700X is outperformed by Intel’s 12-core i7-12700K.
In multi-thread performance reports, the 7700X scored 1% higher than Intel’s Core i9-12900K and 8% more than the i7-12700K. The Raphel Zen 4 CPU is also 28% faster than its predecessor Ryzen 7 5800X.
The Ryzen 7 7700X is also submitted to the Geekbench database but with a different motherboard, the ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Hero, with 64 GB of DDR5-6000 memory.
Here, the single and multi-core scores are 2209 and 14459, respectively.
The 7700X is 16% faster than Core i7-12700K in single-core and 2% in multi-core tests.
AMD is set to launch the Ryzen 7 7700X on September 27th with three other Ryzen 7 SKUs. However, we can expect reports a day earlier as soon as the embargo on the CPU and motherboard is lifted.
