In episode 8 of “Chained Soldier,” titled “Promise, Nei, Remember,” Kyouka refuses to hand over Yukki to the sixth squadron. So Izumo asked her if it was okay if they dated each other in their free time. Kyouka, of course, said yes, but later on, we learned that she did not like the idea of Yukki dating Izumo since she was also somewhat fond of him now.
They tested out the potential of Yukki’s transformation and whether it was possible to lend Kyouka’s ability. It was indeed possible to do so, and this opened up boundless possibilities for Yukki to grow. The more unique the master’s ability is, the stronger Yukki gets. For example, if Izumo were to control him, he would get an ability similar to Ame-no-Mitori.

No, “Chained Soldier” is not on a break this week, and Episode 9 should be released as usual on the above-mentioned date.
2. Episode 9 Speculation
Izumo is clearly interested in Yukki and isn’t trying to hide that at all. Even though she uses the word “pet” every time she’s in front of any of the seventh squad members, she genuinely wants to date Yukki. She is now Shushu’s romantic rival, who clearly doesn’t like this. On the other hand, as impossible as it may sound, Kyouka might have feelings for Yukki, too.
She did say that she didn’t want to control his private life, but she was clearly annoyed by how much Izumo was fawning over Yukki. We learned that Nei’s parents were also caught in a Mato mishap. Since Yukki’s sister transformed into a humanoid shuuki, we can’t rule out the possibility that the same might have happened to Nei’s parents. Whatever the next episode brings on the plate, there will be a lot of new info.

At the end of their meeting, Izumo asked Kyouka to let Yukki join the sixth squadron. She flat-out confessed that she wanted to date Yukki. She even said she would vote for Kyouka in the next Supreme Commander election. Kyouka still refused the offer but agreed to let them meet in their free time.
Back at the seventh squad’s dorms, Yukki was shocked after hearing about Izumo’s offer, but Kyouka told him that she had no control over his personal life, so if he wanted to date Izumo, he could. Later that night, when Yukki was about to go to sleep, Izumo snuck into his room using her ability. She almost made Yukki say yes to dating her, but Shushu discovered them.
Kyouka told Izumo that even though she said they could meet in their free time, that didn’t mean that Izumo could sneak into another squad’s dorm, especially so late at night. Hearing this, Izumo returned to her own dorm with a smile. The next day, the squad decided to check the potential of Yukki’s transformation.
Kyouka wanted to try lending her ability and see how the transformation would change. She transformed Yukki and then asked Nei to control him by becoming the master. This triggered a different transformation, but Yuuki’s humanoid body was much frailer and slow this time. As a way to compensate for the lack of strength, Yukki gained the ability to see through things.
While the tests were ongoing, it was time for Nei to go to school. Yukki wanted to walk her to school, and Kyouka had no problem with it. On their way to school, Yukki asked Nei why she joined the demon defense corps. He learned that just like him, Nei also lost her family in a Mato mishap, and she joined the corps in hopes of finding her parents.
We saw Izumo and Kyouka in another casual meeting where Izumo told Kyouka how the supreme commander wanted to talk to the humanoid shuukis in hopes of solving Mato’s mystery. They returned to the seventh quad’s dorm, and after seeing Yukki, Izumo started teasing him a bit. Suddenly, they felt heavy tremors, and after checking the surveillance stats, they saw numerous gates opening everywhere.
Himari and Shushu were already out patrolling, so Kyouka and Yukki immediately joined them with the help of Izumo’s ability. Here, before the start of the fight, Kyouka said something surprising that may point toward her having unsorted feelings about Yukki. However, Yukki transformed, and after a great fight, they took down all the shuukis using the special move that Kyouka had developed.

Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) is a manga series by Takahiro and illustrated by Yohei Takemura.
Mysterious entrances to the ‘Mato’ dimension appeared, threatning humans by the arrival of monsters called Shuuki. Hope came in the form of Mato fruit that gave superpowers to women who formed a matriarchal government, throwing men at the bottom of the social ladder.
During such times, the protagonist Yuuki met Kyouka, chief of the Anti-Demon Corps’ Seventh squad who made him his slave.
