Carmen Electra has announced that she is ready to come back for a reboot of the hit show Baywatch, sparking the hope that a sequel might happen sometime in the future. In an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, the actress revealed that she would return to the franchise if a reboot were ever announced.
Electra played Lani McKenzie in the gaudy classic, which ran from 1989 to 2001. The show mainly revolves around the lifeguards of the California beaches. Their personal lives and their adventures trying to save people from drowning are the core stories, but shark attacks, serial killers and earthquakes were also a part of the show from time to time.
Although Electra’s character was there in only one season of Baywatch, the show earned her the status of a bombshell and launched her career. Not only her, almost all the actors on the show, such as David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, have achieved somewhat of a similar status.
When Wendy Williams asked if Electra was ready to participate in a reboot, the actress replied-
“I would do a reboot, absolutely. I’m down. I’m down to do it. It does get a little dangerous in those waters, though. I mean to be honest, we would shoot scenes and we’d jump in the water and the stunt coordinator would run over and say, ‘Listen, there are sharks in these waters, so just do your best.’ And we’re trying to swim, and I don’t know anyone who wants to necessarily randomly swim with sharks.”

Although many fans would want to see a revival of the show, which was one of the most popular shows on cable television, the recent 2017 sequel, starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and Alexandra Daddario, has daunted them. The film received mixed to negative reviews and was generally panned by the public.
What do you think? Should there be a reboot of Baywatch?
