In episode 12, titled “Bastion vs Bruce/Resolve,” Daybreak and Blackout faced their fourth match, and it was Danji against Tohya.
Without further talks, Danji and Tohya began their Vanguard match. The match was slow at the start and got intense as it progressed. Danji thought he had the win but got stuck at the end of the fight to defeat Tohya.
Tohya won, and team Blackout will face Mirei next. Danji pleaded with Yu-yu to show Mirei a good Vanguard game to change her cruel behavior.

Episode 13 Discussion
The brawl between Daybreak and Blackout is playing out nicely, and soon we’ll see the tournament results. Tohya has finally surpassed Danji, and it has been a long-awaited moment in Vanguard overDress.
The final match is very near, and Yu-yu will go against Daybeak’s boss, Mirei. What will Yu-yu do to change Mirei in the showdown? Will Mirei overreact to the situation with Danji not protecting her?
Just an episode away, and soon we’ll see how Mirei will be shown what reality is like. I feel there might be some twist at the end, given the tournament’s outcome. As things develop for team Blackout and Daybreak, Let’s see what the following episodes bring us.

Episode 12 Recap
This episode starts the fourth round of the tournament between Daybreak and Blackout. Danji faces Tohya in this round, and they get ready to settle their scores. Tohya and Danji start the Vanguard game and set their decks.
Danji and Tohya start slow and keep setting up their decks each turn. Danji then rides Bruce, attacks Tohya’s deck, and gets a twin drive check. Tohya rides Bastion in his deck and states he knows Danji would make a strong move in the next turn.
Danji finds Tohya’s way of playing to be keen and states it’s his time to surpass his limits. He adds a grade-four Bruce and calls in additional cards to set up his attacks. Danji starts his attacks with the front rows, but Tohya adds his guard.
Danji then attacks using Bruce and gets a triple check. Using Bruce, he gets another chance to attack and breaks through Tohya’s stance. Tohya says he will surpass Danji and brings out a grade-four Bastion Prime.
He sets up his deck with additional cards and attacks Danji’s Vanguard. Danji uses some cards to guard and intercept Tohya’s attacks. With that, Tohya gets a triple drive check and a critical trigger. Tohya intensely attacks Danji’s Vanguard and knows the win will be his.
Danji counters his attacks with a combination of powerful guards, catching Tohya off guard. Danji then finds he’s one card short to activate Bruce’s skill to attack. He realizes Tohya foresaw the situation, but he plans to win anyways.
As Danji gets to triple-check, he states a critical trigger will be the call for his victory. Unfortunately, he only gets a front trigger, but Tohya guards it. Danji finds out from Tohya that his meaning of resolve is based on his experience with Blackout.
Tohya states with every choice he takes, he wants to fight and win. He will go anywhere no matter what and bear the responsibility. As Danji finds it cool, Tohya attacks his Vanguard and wins.
After the game, Danji says he lost his way after turning his back on Vanguard while Tohya moved forward. He realizes he hasn’t changed from how he was with his behavior. Yu-yu tells Danji that he plays Vanguard because he witnessed Danji and Tohya’s spark in the first place.
Danji realizes something, and he gives a card to Yu-yu. He states Mirei is changed entirely to how she used to play Vanguard.
Yu-yu says he knows it and can tell she is suffering. Danji emotionally pleads with Yu-yu to go against her earnestly and help them out. Yu-yu states he will because Blackout welcomes all.
