In episode nine, titled “Megumi vs. Haruka/Recollection,” Daybreak and Blackout faced each other to settle their issues once and for all. Blackout has to take on each member of Daybreak to be victorious.
Haruka was team Blackout’s first opponent, and Megumi took her on. Things were getting bad for Megumi in the fight, but her determination led her to gain an advantage.
Haruka explained about Danji’s history with the Minae family and how he ruined Mirei’s happiness.

Episode 10 Discussion
The brawl between Daybreak and Blackout is finally happening, and things will get interesting from here. Haruka is delusional about what happiness is for Mirei and causes so much indirect commotion to develop Daybreak.
It was nice to see Megumi put Haruka in her place. What will team Blackout face next as they try to defeat Daybreak? Will they be prepared enough to counter each elite member of Daybreak?
The next episode will be a Vanguard fight against Shinobu. Yu-yu will be put to the test with his Vanguard skills. As things develop for team Blackout and Daybreak, let’s see what the following episodes bring us.

Episode 9 Recap
This episode starts with Mirei stating Blackout as the bad guy and declaring a battle with them. Tohya and the Blackout members talk about the events and plan for their matches with Daybreak.
Haruka is seen later pleading to Mirei to understand why she lied. She asks her to give a second chance and make Mirei’s wishes happen.
Afterward, Masanori explains the views of the event details and mentions the battle will be held at Nagoya castle.
He states each top member of Daybreak will be stationed on each floor, and team Blackout will have to face them in a Vanguard battle.
Later, Tohya buys a box of Vanguard cards with team Blackout. Afterward, the Vanguard match between Daybreak against Blackout commences.
Masanori lets Tomari commentate for the events, and team Blackout faces their first opponent – Haruka. Megumi goes up against Haruka, and they set up their Vanguard. Haruka first rides Wells, activates its skill, and sets her deck.
Megumi states how Daybreak will pay for burning the banners and running their arena. Haruka wants to save the chit-chat for later and follow the game’s etiquette. Megumi sets up her deck and attacks while riding Magnoliam.
Haruka then rides Gravidia Nordlinger and places it for a coordinated attack. With that, Megumi’s rear-guards get taken out.
As Haruka draws from her deck, her attacks get doubled. Even though Megumi felt the pressure, she calmly withstood the attack.
She is backed to a corner after the attacks but is compelled to keep playing. Haruka gets annoyed by Megumi’s talks and tells her to stop acting like Danji.
She then recalls a time when Mirei was fine and started playing Vanguard with her and Danji.
Danji stopped causing trouble after he played Vanguard, but that changed one day. Haruka stated Mirei wanted to be happy, but Danji threw a tantrum at the engagement. Thinking of Mirei’s happiness, Haruka told Danji to leave.
She told Mirei that her brother had passed away so she wouldn’t have to worry about him. Danji never returned to the Minae family but took on a new identity and played as the kind-loving big brother with Blackout.
Afterward, Haruka started to manage Daybreak and kept things going for the team. She met Masanori, and he gave her advice on getting stronger.
After that, Haruka went around burning banners of different Vanguard teams, which caused a good impact for Daybreak.
She and Mirei were happy with Daybreak’s development, but Danji had to show up and ruin it again. As Haruka says Danji only causes pain around him, Megumi replies she knows that and puts Magnolia Elder onto her deck.
Megumi uses a grade-four card and unleashes a powerful attack. Haruka checks her levels and knows it won’t defeat her.
As Haruka guards her deck, Megumi draws a critical card that intensifies her Vanguard power. Megumi says if it weren’t for Danji, she wouldn’t be stronger now.
Haruka says it’s all for Mirei’s happiness, but Megumi replies, how can she decide that and lands a decisive attack. Haruka thinks back about Mirei’s happiness and finds herself defeated, and Blackout wins the first round.
