Naofumi and L’Arc’s New Team will defeat Kyo in the series. But the crew must travel to different worlds, gain new allies, strengthen their capabilities, and utilize class magic to defeat the Vassal Book Wielder who cheated death multiple times.
Fans of Shield Hero know what’s coming at the mention of the phrase “different worlds”. Not only did Kyo Ethnina return to his homeland (or “homeworld” in this case); rather, Kyo opened inter-dimensional portals to separate Naofumi’s party!

What is the New World Arc?
The “New World Arc” is coming soon in the anime. It is an insert to the light novel since it does not exist in the web novel of the series.
The New World Arc is also the arc where Kyo Ethnina finally tasted defeat through Naofumi’s crew; hence, preventing his reincarnation into Glass’ World ever again!
If Kinema Citrus and DR Movie studios adapt the light novel successfully, fans will travel to the magnificent worlds that Shield Hero characters will explore one by one: Infinite labyrinths, circuses, the site of a Dragon Hourglass, Raphtalia’s World, abandoned dungeons, and laboratories!!
Think about the “New World Arc” this way: the anime studio will adapt mind battles and excellent fight footage among the characters in these various locations
For Naofumi and Rishia, the dungeon will be the place they will wake up to after finding that their stat levels reset.
The Infinite Labyrinth will enlist the help of a new ally of Glass’ World (Kizuna — the “Legendary Hunting Tool Hero”) so Naofumi and Rishia can escape the terrible maze.
And finally, the circus will be the site of a mini-arc where the gang rescues Filo from a circus — a place where she experienced humiliation and a “monstrous” transformation!
Overall, the New World Arc will bring exciting adventures, mind battles, and different people to our heroes!
How is Kyo Ethnina Defeated?
Kyo Ethnina — the notorious Vassal Book Wielder — tasted defeat when Naofumi utilized Sacrifice-class magic. This might not be the only way to defeat an enemy, but it is the best class magic that Naofumi can activate to destroy his egotistical opponent!
Naofumi battled Kyo, his human experiments, and the Guardian Beast copies in the laboratory amidst magic fogs. Despite battling immensely, our valiant heroes from Glass’ Worlds were teleported to multiple inter-dimensional portals!
Before losing all hope again, Naofumi activated his Sacrifice-class magic to boost his power stats and everyone else’s. And at the peak of the battle, they destroyed Kyo’s soul; thus, preventing his rampage to harm other worlds.

Tate no Yusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It was initially published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2012 to 2015.
In August 2013, Media Factory started publishing the light novel series with an expanded storyline featuring illustrations by Seira Minami.
Later on, Kinema Citrus adapted the light novel into an anime television series. The first episode aired on 9 January 2019.
