The latest One Piece chapter is packed with so much action! Blackbeard’s crew and SWORD’s devil fruits are finally revealed, and it’s like a buffet of awesomeness for us One Piece fans.
But wait, the best part is yet to come. We got to see Garp in action, and it was totally worth the wait!
In One Piece chapter 1080, Garp unleashes his Galaxy Impact attack, showcasing his immense power. While he is set to save Koby, there’s a chance that Garp may have to make a sacrifice to do so.
Shanks’ Divine Departure attack had us all thinking he was the ultimate haki master, but we now know that Garp has the power of One Punch!
Despite his age, Garp’s power is off the charts, and with him going full throttle alongside Helmeppo and Tashigi on the ship, this arc is heading towards an all-out battle.
1. Unveiling the True Power of Garp
We finally got to witness the true power of Monkey D. Garp, and it was beyond anything I could have imagined. This guy’s ship was flying in the air, and he was screaming like a madman at the kidnappers who took his son, Koby, who he believes is the future of the Marines.
With his incredible punch, Galaxy Impact, Garp destroyed an entire town before even touching the ground. His advanced skills suggest he has conqueror’s haki, making him one of the strongest characters in One Piece.
His attack had lightning streaks, which usually indicate an advanced conqueror’s haki. So, I think it’s safe to say that Garp has this ability. It makes complete sense, as he was known as the rival of former pirate king Gold D. Roger.
Also, the debates over his strength compared to Akainu can be put to rest now; if Sengoku didn’t intervene, Akainu might not be alive.
Even though he’s getting up there in age, Garp is undoubtedly one of the strongest characters in One Piece. His power is insane, and I can’t wait to see how this will affect the story moving forward.
2. Will Garp rescue Koby and make a safe escape?
Garp’s priority is to get Koby to safety, but what lengths will he go to make that happen?
I’m certain that Garp will save Koby, but many fans speculate that this may be his last battle. I think it’s unlikely that he will die just yet since Blackbeard is not on the island, although there is a chance he could be captured.
Blackbeard’s crew relies so heavily on their devil fruit powers that it will be tough for them to go up against someone like Garp, a top-tier haki user. But those sneaky devils might have some dirty tricks up their sleeves.
Koby’s already made a run for it and is on a mission to free Gecko Moria. As for Garp, I do not see any immediate death flags, but he could possibly be captured.
Blackbeard might not be in the picture right now, but we all know he has a way of popping up at the most inconvenient times, just like he did during Marineford.
3. The Real Reason Behind Blackbeard’s Capture of Koby Revealed
I know I’m not the only one who was baffled when Blackbeard went and snatched up Koby. And now, we finally have the tea on what his deal is.
Blackbeard wants to turn his pirate island into an official kingdom recognized by the World Government, and he needs a big-name Marine as a bargaining chip, so he kidnaps Koby.
A wild move for sure! It’s not often you see a pirate trying to join up with the government they usually spend their whole lives fighting against.
But here’s where things get interesting – Blackbeard might have a bit of a
problem with his plan. He went and nabbed a Marine who’s not really a Marine.
Koby is a part of this group called SWORD, made up of former Marines who’ve renounced any affiliation with the World Government. They still do the work of Marines, but with a different goal in mind.
And the best part? SWORD members aren’t bound by any rules. They can do whatever they want, including taking on a yonko without needing any approval from the World Government.
Blackbeard’s plan might be in hot water now as the SWORD squad, and Garp are swooping in to save Koby’s butt!
4. About One Piece
One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since July 22, 1997.
The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were “My treasures? If you want it, I’ll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place.” These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. Thus began a new age!
Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. His diverse crew is joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure.
