Episode 2 of Call of the Night is titled “Do You Do LINE?”. While discussing the emotional aspect of vampires sucking blood, Kou and Nazuna discuss their feelings. Despite only knowing each other for a short time, the two love each other’s company.
In order to remain in constant contact with Nazuna, Kou asks her for her phone number. Kou becomes more inventive and devises a solution because Nazuna does not have a phone.

Episode 3 Speculation
Kou was bitten in the neck by Nazuna at the end of episode 2 while they were on the roof of the school. A strange girl with dark hair appeared in front of Kou shortly after.
Her watch transceiver is the same one Kou lost when he was nine years old. Is she the one Kou has been searching for? Why did she appear only after Nazuna bit him? Did she come to protect Kou?
The upcoming episodes will address all of these questions.

Episode 2 Recap
Beginning with Kou’s first encounter with Nazuna, the episode takes a look back at their first meeting. It doesn’t matter that Kou only met Nazuna recently; he is determined to be her vampire offspring.
In contrast, Nazuna is determined to keep Kou from acting on his impulses. During their lesson, Nazuna informs Kou about the process of vampire reproduction. Only those who fall in love with vampires become vampires. The vampire will drink their blood and transform them into vampires.
Nazuna further informs Kou that drinking blood is simply the equivalent of cohabiting. In short, Nazuna eats and copulates at the same time. Despite Kou’s second night together, this information stayed in his mind. It is the second night when Kou goes looking for Nazuna.
His tiredness caused Nazuna to appear in front of him. Her purpose is to find someone to feed; she tells Kou. He was deeply affected by this experience. There isn’t much Nazuna can’t copulate with since she’s a vampire.
Despite not having any feelings for Nazuna, Kou was offended. Kou feels compelled to stop Nazuna from looking elsewhere for someone other than him, but he doesn’t know how. It was the second night that Kou and Nazuna slept together.
Upon Kou’s invitation to Nazuna’s home, the latter is sucked into Nazuna’s bloodlust. Nazuna’s phone search began that night but ended completely differently. The following night, Kou brought his watch transceivers with him.
Kou purchased transceivers for them to test every night in order to prevent them from losing each other. Despite not having any friends to play with, Kou bought a pair when he was nine.
Taking the risk of finding and using them, he hid the transceivers somewhere. While Kou has never used the transceivers, he has a great deal of interest in them. Interested in finding out who picked it up, he is now curious.
Using the watch transceiver, you can communicate up to 150 meters away. Their test was to separate for a while and see how they did. It is fortunate that the transceiver works flawlessly. Roleplaying and laughter even accompany the discussion.
Nazuna took Kou to the roof of the school before they parted ways. While Kou dislikes school, the atmosphere there gets to him. Nighttime is more peaceful and beautiful. In the heat of the moment, Nazuna bites Kou in the neck.
About Call of the Night
Call of the Night manga by Kotoyama was first published in the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2019. The series will receive an anime adaptation in July 2022.
The series’ plot focuses on Ko Yamori, a human, and Nazuna, a laid-back and free-spirited vampire. After Ko discovers Nazuna’s nature, he wants to become a vampire too.
Yet, the only way to turn into a vampire is by falling in love with one.
