Episode 1 of Call of the Night is titled ‘1st Night: Night Flight,’ which focuses on Kou, who goes for a nighttime walk alone in an attempt to make sense of his otherwise confusing and irrelevant existence.
Nazuna Nanakusa is a mysterious-looking girl he meets during his walk. Nazuna shows Kou the beauty of the night and even identifies the exact reason for his insomnia as they walk together the rest of the night.

Episode 2 Speculation
I hope that the next episode will be as adventurous as episode 1. I had a great time with episode 1, and I expect the anime keeps the bar high in the upcoming episodes as well.
Upon waking up the next morning, Kou’s relief quickly turns to disappointment as he discovers nothing has changed in his uninteresting life.
It is for this reason that he asks Nazuna to transform him into a vampire because exploring the nightlife with her excites him more than anything else.
A person can become a vampire if they fall in love with the vampire who drinks their blood, according to Nazuna.

Episode 1 Recap
Kou Yamori enjoys a night free of the craziness of school routines away from the morning chaos. In addition to exploring the neighborhood, Kou also swings in the nearby park. Once Kou gets on the swing by himself, it suddenly becomes fun for him.
Mornings are just like any other middle school day for Kou. He does have friends, but they are not the same type. As he sits in the corner of the classroom every day, he just keeps going.
I think his lack of motivation in life does not stem from being shy or aloof. In addition to not knowing what he wants, he does not care about the people around him. He was also cornered by girls after rejecting a confession from a friend.
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Kou does not understand romantic things. He dislikes all kinds of girls, especially those who behave inappropriately around him. Whatever the case, Kou has problems sleeping in everyday life.
It’s unclear why Kou stays up so late. Because of this, Kou quits school and starts having fun at night. It is easier for him at night. Nothing bothers him.
In the midst of buying a beer from the vending machine, a mysterious hooded girl appears out of nowhere. She was not taken aback by Kou’s near-alcohol violation. She does not want to seem judgmental.
He is instead dragged out into the night by the mysterious girl. The girl spoke casually with three drunken men they passed. According to the girl, people who are up late at night have unhappy mornings.
After a short time, Kou was sleeping in the girl’s apartment and pretending to sleep. She offered Kou the bed in her apartment. She claimed it would make it easier for Kou to sleep. Kou was then bitten in the neck by the girl.
Kou recognizes the girl as a vampire despite her lame excuses. She told him that his blood tasted delicious and thus revealed her true identity. The two still hang out despite this.
Following their introductions, they began discussing a range of topics. The mysterious vampire girl is called Nazuna Nanakusa. As it turns out, she is a vampire who doesn’t produce children.
Quite unexpectedly, Kou is keen to become a vampire. His life’s work is a spiritual one, and he believes it is the right thing to do. It was then that he realized he had found his calling.
He learned that he had to fall in love with Nazuna in order to become a vampire. Kou’s proposal is met with Nazuna’s promise not to bite.
Before the first episode ends, Nazuna kicks Kou off the rooftop. She captures Kou just as he is about to die. Kou is amused by Nazuna’s nighttime frolic for the sake of her amusement.
About Call of the Night
Call of the Night manga by Kotoyama was first published in the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2019. The series will receive an anime adaptation in July 2022.
The series’ plot focuses on Ko Yamori, a human, and Nazuna, a laid-back and free-spirited vampire. After Ko discovers Nazuna’s nature, he wants to become a vampire too.
Yet, the only way to turn into a vampire is by falling in love with one.
