By the end of the previous episode, each type of vampire has its characteristics, and Kou learned that there are various kinds of vampires. When Kou learned this information, he went home, realizing that he had no idea what vampires were and that there was so much more to learn about them.

He will likely maintain distance from the vampires in the upcoming episode, which could lead to some adventure since he enjoyed their company.

Episode 11 Recap

Kou searches for customers in the middle of the night to earn a few quick bucks through massage and cuddling. He presumes a woman smoking a cigarette may need his services when he sees her smoking. When they go to the nearest care center, Kou discovers that the woman is a private detective.

She investigates infidelity and missing person cases for people hired by them. Upon hearing this, Kou’s shocked; she asks him whether he knows Akiyama- who became a vampire on his own accord.

His refusal to provide this crucial information is based on his claim that he has never met the private detective. They spend some time together at Nazuna’s flat after they part ways.

Akira and Mahiru meet Kou later that night. Mahiru takes the other two to their schools, while the other two don’t have any specific plans for the evening. He explains that they can do whatever they want and that it will be fun to break all the rules. The other two are confused, but he explains that it will be fun to break all the rules.

Akira and Kou decide to join them inside the building because it sounds exciting. When the three friends arrive, they start exploring different rooms and breaking all sorts of rules since no one else is watching.

According to rumors, he still attends the classrooms at night. So to spice up their night, the trio decides to test the urban myth, but it turns out to be a significant mistake.

Their eyes are immediately drawn to a middle-aged man standing in one of the rooms. He murmurs that it wasn’t a good idea for them to be there.

As Akira appears to be on the verge of drinking blood, he leaps toward the three friends. Thanks to Mahiru’s quick reaction, he is held back. With his chair, Kou attempts to knock him out immediately after realizing he is a vampire.

Although he can keep him away from his friends, the vampire remains aware. For their safety, he tells them to run away. But just moments later, someone unexpectedly shows up at the school. Kou has previously met the private detective who is now returning.

Despite being new to the vampire, she acknowledges the trio’s suspicions that he is indeed the same teacher who disappeared a decade ago. Her open arms welcome him as soon as he leaps toward her.

He has resisted his blood thirst all these years despite being driven to insanity by it. His values, however, have prevailed, and he has rejected his present self.

The detective’s blood tastes horrible, so he is shocked when he drinks it. In the meantime, the detective tells him that he has already suffered enough, so instead of giving in to his vampire instincts, it would be better if he died as a human.

When the first rays of sunlight finally fell on the school, the vampire’s body disintegrated, and he died peacefully. Anko’s identity is finally revealed to the trio by the detective. Continuing, she warns them that vampires come in different forms, and they should be cautious around them.

Kou doesn’t expect Anko to let him become a vampire since she tells him she won’t let him accomplish his foolish dream. What she will do to stop him remains to be seen. Moreover, it remains unclear what her true motivations and goals are. Anko’s life will be discussed in the upcoming episode before season 1’s conclusion.

Call of the Night manga by Kotoyama was first published in the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2019. The series will receive an anime adaptation in July 2022.

The series’ plot focuses on Ko Yamori, a human, and Nazuna, a laid-back and free-spirited vampire. After Ko discovers Nazuna’s nature, he wants to become a vampire too.

Yet, the only way to turn into a vampire is by falling in love with one.
