Playing Call of Duty: Warzone can be a pretty challenging experience even without vicious killer doors. But, of course, this is about the recent bug discovered by Warzone players on Reddit where a random door found in the game’s Salt Mine was killing players as soon as they got close enough.
Now, if you had a friend to revive you, then you were safe. But if you were playing solo and got near these doors, even the adequate number of armor plates couldn’t save you. And naturally, you would have to live with the fact that you lost a game due to two murderous doors.
Such was the wrath of the Salt Mine doors at Verdansk; they pretty much had a kill count of their own. Thankfully, one of developer Raven Software’s recent Season 4 patch notes has neutralized the threat.
The patch also brought a bunch of other bug fixes. Here they are, as taken from the patch notes found on Raven Software’s website:
- Fixed an issue that was causing some players to have to restart the game in order to unlock a gifted Battle Pass.
- Fixed an issue causing tier skips to not apply properly when receiving a gifted Battle Pass Bundle.
- Fixed a locked control room door in Salt Mine that was killing Players instantly upon contact.
- Fixed an issue causing Players to lose control of their Operator after walking through a Red Door if another Player had previously died while going through it.
- Fixed an issue where using some QBZ-83 (BOCW) Blueprints would cause Players to crash.
The patch also nerfs the overpowered MG82 by bringing down many key stats, including Max Damage, Headshot Multiplier, Vertical and Horizontal Recoil, and more.
While players had successfully figured out that the killer doors were a bug, the reasons behind their misbehavior remain unknown. Many players believed that they alluded to the Red Doors from the trailer for CoD: Warzone Season 4, but that theory was never proven correct.
These doors were CoD’s fast travel system, but the kicker was that they would appear in surprise locations and drop players off in random parts of the map; quite handy for a quick getaway.
