Ranked Play has always been a staple in the recent Call of Duty titles. It is a game type in which players compete in “Seasons”, playing various types of matches and they’re paired with other players with their skill levels too. That’s what Ranked Play has always been in Call of Duty, and it seems like it’s making a comeback.
Activision has announced that Ranked Play will be added to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 in Season 03 Reloaded which will officially begin on May 10. In addition to that, the third Raid episode, the Alboran Hatchery Core Multiplayer Map, and a new experience for DMZ will also be added.
Other than the things listed above, two new full-auto sidearms, new Perk Packages, the Deployable Buy Station and the Gulag Entry Kit will also be added when Season 03 Reloaded officially arrives.
In Ranked Play, players will receive Skill Ratings based on how they play, depending on several factors like eliminations, assists, and their overall match performances. Players will have to play a Skill Rating entry fee to maintain balance. Good overall match performance will result in a positive SR outcome, while quick elimination will result in a negative SR outcome.
Skill Ratings will have multiple tiers, similar to other competitive games. Players will start from the bottom tier, which is Bronze, and then climb their way up through Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Crimson, and Iridescent, and then into the Top 250 of Skill Ratings. Top players with the highest Skill Ratings will be featured on a public leaderboard.
Ranked play will have its own battle pass type progression system when it comes to rewards. Players completing an entire match will receive player stars. Earning these stars will help players in earning ranks and rewards are given every five ranks.
Rewards include a variety of things like emblems, charms, a ranked play Operator Skin among others. Players will also receive rewards for obtaining certain milestones at the end of each season, as well as Skill Rank division rewards. Players going down SR tiers at the end of a season will have to climb again in the next one.
Ranked Play will launch as a beta, and it’ll be limited to Trios queues, and matches will take place in Al Mazrah. Season 04’s arrival will bring about the full release of the Ranked Play mode.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is now available to play for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
