California is lifting restrictions and movie theaters will soon be able to open fully starting June 15, in time for the summer movie season.
California movie theaters are set to open completely beginning in June. After 12 long months of COVID-19 regulations in place throughout the country, movie theaters are gradually beginning to gain momentum as new movies begin coming up.
With no assurance as to when theaters would have the permission to open at full capacity, films like Black Widow postponed themselves later into the summertime. However, now it looks like there’s a date in sight.
As reported by Deadline, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that California is lifting restraints on June 15, 2021, permitting movie theaters to open at full capacity again. However, masks will remain mandatory. The date will signify eight weeks from when vaccines will speak in confidence to all California residents.
Newsom points out that though instances of COVID-19 have increased throughout the nation, California has surpassed over 20 million administered vaccine doses.
“We’ll be opening up on June 15, this economic system…enterprise as normal…We are asserting now that on June 15, we will likely be eliminating the colored [reopening] tiers.”
Gavin Newsom
Reopening film theaters in California will assist in revitalizing the workplace after 12 months of theaters being completely shut down. Even at 25% capacity, Los Angeles and New York boosted Godzilla vs. Kong with the most significant opening through the pandemic.
As theaters increase their capacity, it might assist several forthcoming releases, like Mortal Kombat and Cruella. The new Fast and Furious movie, F9, will reopen two weeks after California cinema halls begin functioning at full capacity, which could enable a return to an active summer movie season and an end to crucial film delays.
