In Episode 9 of the Burning Kabaddi anime, Misumi remembered when Kei blackmailed him into joining the Kabaddi team in April last year.
Later he asked Shinji Date to join the team as they lacked a person with strong defensive capabilities who won’t give up points. But lately, they started having some arguments.
They trained hard in the practice field and were even able to guess Masato’s strategies. Later in the episode, Masato fixed a practice match with his friends in a nearby town.

1. Episode 10 Preview & Speculation
Kei’s strategies are pretty effective, but it makes me wonder, does anyone want to play Kabaddi in that team, other than Kei and the captain? Or were they all blackmailed into it? I can’t wait to see how they got Sumo in the team.
I’m bothered that they used the sickly prodigy trope for the captain, but he doesn’t really seem to struggle with it apart from the one time it drove the plot.
If he was physically weak being grabbed, it should be the death knell for his raids, but it barely slows him down.
Anyway, I’m so glad the second-year team members got a more central role in this episode.
I’m guessing those unique techniques based on people’s strong points will come into play more, and we’ll get to see every member shine once in a while.

Episode 10 of the Burning Kabaddi anime, titled “Because He’s the Ace”, has been released on Saturday, Jun 05, 2021.
Since this anime runs on a weekly schedule, new episode releases are seven days apart.

Last April, Misumi joined Noukin high school. He planned on enjoying his high school days, but his happy days ended when he met Kei Lura.
Kei blackmailed him into making him join the Kabaddi team, hence he started training for Kabaddi.
In their first competition, Noukin High was paired with Seikai High, a very strong Kabaddi team. After losing, he realized that they need a person with strong defensive capabilities who won’t give up points.
He asked Shinji Date to join the team. But lately, they had some differences. Even during the training, Kei observes them taking out their frustration with each other through the game.
Misumi remembers old times with Shinji because lately, his partnership with him seems to be incorrect. The same night, Misumi goes for a run and meets Shinji. They both talk out their misunderstanding.
They train hard in the practice field. So much that they can now even guess Masato’s strategies and learn various new strategies.
While another training session, Misumi almost grabs Masato, but Masato somehow manages to get back to his territory. Looking at their growth, Masato decides to take the training intensity to the next level. Kei comments to stop this practice as there is no way into their raids.
Masato arranges a practice match in a nearby town. His friends come to welcome them at the railway station. During the practice session with them, Yoigoshi is amazed by looking at their raider.

Burning Kabaddi manga by Hajime Musashino debuted in 2015. It was serialized in the Manga ONE app by Shogakukan.
Tatsuya Yoigoshi, a high school student, is invited to join the Kabaddi club of the school. He usually hates sports and thinks of it as a joke.
However, his views change when he witnesses a Kabaddi match, which is as competitive as a martial arts match.
