Tite Kubo, the famed mangaka of Bleach, has finally returned to the manga world! The promising title, Burn The Witch, features a new story in a new world with characters whose looks remind us of Bleach.
The primary difference between Bleach and Burn The Witch is that the latter has female protagonists with the sass factor.
It seems, unlike Kubo’s previous work, the girls in this manga will be getting a lot more power-ups soon.
Burn The Witch, initially debuted as a one-shot manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. It was later decided that the one-shot will be inspiring an anime film.
A recent tweet by Crunchyroll revealed that the upcoming Burn The Witch anime film will premiere this October.
A trailer for the upcoming film has also been posted.
The anime film is currently scheduled for release in Japan on 2nd October. It will also be streamed worldwide on the same day.
However, the streamed version will be different from the theatrical release version. The streamed film will be an edited version with some differences, and it will also be reorganized into three episodes.
The trailer gives us a glimpse into the setting of the new anime film. Based in London, the film is about those who prevent dragons from roaming around and causing damage to humans.
The duo Noel and Ninny are the main protagonists, and the reasons behind their actions are pretty transparent.
“You’re doing it for the money. I’m doing it for the merit.”
Ninny
This line by Ninny shows that these fierce protagonists don’t care about social justice and are here to make a place for themselves.
Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime in North, Central, and South Americas as well as in Europe, Oceania, Africa, Middle East, and CIS.
Are Bleach and Burn The Witch related? Reportedly, yes. Both the series takes place in the same world, but Burn The Witch occurs 12 years after the “Thousand Years Blood War” arc in Bleach.
While Bleach takes place in Japan, Burn the Witch takes place in London.
If you are curious about the new upcoming anime and want to know more about the plot, don’t worry.
Viz Media has released the first chapter of the Burn The Witch manga on their website, and you can read it for free!
The Burn The Witch manga series will span four chapters and then compiled into a volume to be published on the same day as the film’s release.
About Bleach
Bleach is a Japanese anime television series based on Tite Kubo’s manga of the same name.
The anime series adapts Kubo’s manga but also introduces some new, original, self-contained story arcs.
It is based in Karakura Town on a 15-year-old high school student Ichigo Kurosaki who becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper, puts Soul Reaper powers in Ichigo. They barely manage to kill the hollow.
Although initially reluctant to accept the heavy responsibility, he begins eliminating some more hollows and also discovers that several of his friends and classmates are spiritually aware and have powers of their own.
