While Burn builds seem straightforward, they hold immense potential for destruction when paired with the right mods and weapons in Once Human.

Burn’s Status DMG may start slow, but it quickly gains momentum, dealing 10% of Psi Intensity every 0.5 seconds for six seconds. And with up to five stacks, the damage escalates rapidly. As a Blaze-elemental effect, Burn’s potential is undeniable.

This Burn-focused build emphasizes swift stacking and amplified damage output. We recommend the KVD for crowd control, leveraging its high ammo capacity and explosive passive effect to spread Burn. For boss battles, the KAM excels with consistent, non-RNG Burn application.

  • Equip accessories

2. Primary & Secondary Weapon

The Boom Boom LMG is a must-have, but feel free to swap the Crumble sniper rifle with your preferred alternative. Crumble’s Burn status and long-range capabilities make it an ideal complement to the LMG.

To optimize the KAM Crank, equip a Rapid Shot Style calibration to boost the fire rate by 15% and reload speed by 40%, allowing for a faster and more efficient Burn application. Fully calibrating the weapon unlocks enhanced Weak spot DMG, further amplifying its damage output.

Both the KVD Boom Boom and KAM Crank can be obtained for free from the mystical crate in Fort Eyrie, Red Sands region.

3. Armour Set For The Burn Build

The Grill Gloves increase Burn DMG frequency by up to 100%, scaling with Burn stacks. Meanwhile, the Heavy Duty 3PC set provides a 10% boost to Max HP, 8% increase to Elemental DMG, and a temporary 20% Movement Speed and 40% Elemental DMG buff after killing an enemy, which decays over 8 seconds. The Scout 2PC set adds a 10% increase to Max HP and an 8% boost to Weapon DMG.

For players who have farmed sufficient Starchrom, the Shelterer set from the Wish Machine is a highly recommended upgrade. This premium set specializes in amplifying Status/Elemental DMG, significantly increasing Burn tick damage simply by hitting enemies with your bullets.

You can opt for four pieces of the Shelterer set, pairing it with Grill Gloves for enhanced Burn ticks, or swap Grill Gloves with Hardy Gloves to trigger explosions upon reaching max Burn stacks.

For this build, the optimal Deviant is Pyro Dino, a combat-oriented variant of the Chefosaurus, which can boost Blaze DMG by up to 19.6% against targets it hits. You can find Pyro Dino in the hidden Seepage Zone within Silo Phi, the same area where the Chefosaurus is located.

However, be aware that Pyro Dino is extremely rare. If you’re unable to acquire it, suitable alternatives include Lonewolf’s Whisper or Zeno-Purifier, which will still provide valuable support to your build.
