Episode 6 Speculation
Episode 6 is titled “Tragic Sunday”. One of the five angels, Nikolai Gogolai, has entered the scene. Fyodor seems to have some very powerful, terrifying allies, which will prove to be difficult for the Agency to deal with. They have already lost once, and coupled with Oguri’s murder, Ranpo will get extremely angry and rush to catch Fyodor.
We will probably be seeing the rest of the Agency in the next episode. Fyodor is an extremely scary enemy, so it will be very interesting to see how the Agency members handle the situation.
They will probably have to enlist the help of the port mafia again. The next episode will also reveal exactly what kind of offer Oguri was talking about.

Recap of Episode 5

Poe reads the manuscript of the last chapter of the dead author, looking for any clues to help Ranpo. He notices a smudge on the last page of the manuscript. Suddenly, he gets a call from Ranpo, his ringtone scaring the police officers and himself.
In Oguri’s car, he questions Ranpo about his deductions, but Ranpo shows him the last page of the manuscript, which he found near the photocopy machine.
For some reason, only the last page of the manuscript was a copy, and since the killer couldn’s risk having the page found on themselves, they hid it. This helped Ranpo deduce that the murderer and the evidence destroyer are the same person.

As soon as Ranpo says Oguri is the culprit, the driver points his gun at Ranpo while Oguri tries to calm him down. They find themselves surrounded by police, and Ranpo reveals that Poe heard their conversation since he started a call with him earlier.
The driver, however, gets him and Oguri out of getting arrested by using his position as a foreign diplomat. He also reveals that his gun isn’t loaded, and Ranpo recognizes it as one of Fyodor’s tricks. They have to let them go.
Ranpo calls Oguri with his phone, which he left in the car, purposefully, and tells him that even though he isn’t gifted, he will defeat him since everyone at the agency depends on him. Oguri gets captured inside Poe’s novel, which Ranpo put on the phone earlier, reproducing the scene of the author’s murder.

Oguri tells Ranpo that he can easily get out since all he has to do is speak the truth, but Ranpo tells him that he will turn himself in after he is finished speaking. As Ranpo speaks, Oguri remembers his time with the author, Yokomizo, who was actually his friend from school.
Oguri screams that he knows he is the murderer, but Ranpo states that he is not.
It is revealed that Yokomizo planned his own death after finding he has a malignant tumor and he will die within a year. To create the perfect mystery novel, he enlisted Oguri as the murderer.
Oguri proclaims that he killed the man he hated, but Ranpo takes out the manuscript’s last page, bringing his attention to the smudge at the end. Oguri’s tears caused the smudges as he killed his good friend while Yokomizo thanked him.

Ranpo threatens to reveal the truth to the public about Yokomizo’s suicide if he doesn’t turn himself in, stating he won’t let Fyodor defeat The Detective Agency again. Oguri remembers the last will of his dear friend and turns himself in. The police also find the truth behind the girl’s murder, and Kunikida is released.
Poe asks Ranpo about the man they saw falling, and Ranpo tells him it was probably a corpse provided by Fyodor. He believes Oguri has never killed anyone except the author. Ranpo refers Oguri to a gifted agent, telling him that he will hire him due to his ability. Oguri smiles and is thankful to Ranpo. Ranpo burns the manuscript of the fourth chapter.
On the way, the policeman driving the car is killed by a mysterious man who reveals himself to be Nikolai, one of Fyodor’s men and part of the angels, there to kill Oguri. Oguri hastily grabs the police radio to tell Ranpo to refuse a job offer The Detective Agency will get soon.

Ranpo can only look in horror as he hears Oguri’s final words through the radio, followed by gunshots.
