On January 1, the official website for the Buddy Daddies television anime released a second promotional video for the anime. The video revealed the theme song artists and previewed the opening theme song.
The opening theme song “Shock” is performed by Ayase and the ending theme song “My Pain” is being performed by DURDN.
The series is set to premiere on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11 on January 6 before airing on other channels. The series will simultaneously air on the ABEMA TV service in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream the series starting January 6.
The plot of the series as described by Crunchyroll is:
“Targets they go after never get away but somehow this hitman team finds themselves looking after a five year old girl.
And so begins the family life of a hot-blooded and cool-headed team of hired killers and a naive and innocent little girl.
Will they be able to balance career and parenthood? And will this temporary family find happiness?”
The anime stars Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Kazuki Kurusu, Kouki Uchiyama as Rei Suwa, Hina Kino as Miri Unasaka, and Toshiyuki Morikawa as Kyūtarō Kugi.
The anime is directed by Yoshiyuki Asai at P.A. Works, with Vio Shimokura and Yuuko Kakihara overseeing series scripts. Katsumi Enami drafted the original character designs and Souichirou Sako is adapting the designs for animation and serving as chief animation director. Music composition is being handled by Katsutoshi Kitagawa.
