New behind-the-scenes photos from the sets of And Just Like That… season 2 reveal the return of the Sex and the City character Aidan Shaw. The blockbuster series starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall was the flagship creative of HBO during its six-season run.
In December 2021, HBO released Sex and the City’s sequel series, And Just Like That…. The show features Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte and highlights their adventures while tackling a new era.
Although the show garnered mixed reviews from the audience and critics, HBO renewed the show for a second season shortly after the premiere of the first season.
Very recently, And Just Like That…’s official Instagram handle posted a behind-the-scenes shot that reveals the return of Carrie’s ex-fiancé, Aidan.
Aidan’s on-and-off relationship with Carrie has been a feature of Sex and the City ever since they met in season 3. Despite the couple breaking off their engagement, Aidan appeared in Sex and the City 2.
However, the return wasn’t unanimously accepted by the long-time Sex and the City fans. Many were not pleased with the return of the character.
Although the creators have kept the plot under wraps, it can be assumed to be reminiscent of the original series.
Season 1 premiere shocked the audience when Carrie’s husband, Mr. Big, suddenly died of a heart attack. Now, it is time for Carrie to embark on a new journey, and Aidan’s arrival will provide some unexpected turns along the way.
The And Just Like That… cast includes Parker, Davis, Nixon, Nicole Parker Ari, Sarita Choundry, and Sara Ramirez. Tony Danza will also join them as Che’s father.
Season 1 concluded with the reconciliation between Samantha and Carrie, but she will not feature in season 2 as Kim Cattrall feels that she’s finished playing the role.
As of now, HBO Max is yet to announce an official release date for season 2. Fans will have to keep an eye on their social media pages for further information about season 2.
