K-pop group BTS’ Blood Sweat & Tears has received a silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in the United Kingdom.
Blood Sweat & Tears was released as the lead single of the group’s second studio album WINGS in 2016.
The song marks an unforgettable moment in fans’ minds as the same was played in the background as the K-pop legends received their first-ever Billboard trophy in 2017.
The song, whose music video currently sits at a whopping 848 million views, has become the ninth single to earn a silver certificate in the UK. As per the criteria, a silver certificate is awarded to the song or album, which surpasses 200,000 sales.
WINGS’ repackaged album You Never Walk Alone also sits with a silver certification. Other BTS singles that have achieved the same are IDOL, My Universe (feat. Coldplay), Butter, Fake Love, DNA, MIC Drop, Dynamite, and Boy With Luv.
Four BTS albums have earned the gold certification and one, a platinum certification at the BPI. Map of the Soul – Persona, Love Yourself – Answer, and Map of the Soul – 7 have surpassed 100k sales, while Dynamite has surpassed 300k unit sales.
The seven-member K-pop group is known to break and create records left, right, and center. The group recently set three new Guinness World Records for their social media followers count.
Meanwhile, the group is set to host their Permission to Dance On Stage – Seoul concert later this month.
BTS will then fly to LA to participate in the 64th Grammys and continue their four-day sold-out concert in the city next month. The group made history again by being nominated for the Best Pop/Duo Group Performance for single Butter.
With incredible achievements coming in the group’s path, only a Grammy trophy remains to be added to their awards kitty. Watch the group on the 64th Grammys red carpet on April 3.
