The trailer for the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is here! The show that was once unjustly taken off the air will get its deserved ending, the action-superhero-styled trailer for Season 8 reveals. The Nine-Nine is back for “One. Last. Ride.”
The trailer begins with Joe Lo Truglio’s Boyle recounting his time with his best friend and detective partner Jake Peralta. The stake-outs, the drinks after cases both successful and not so, growing old together… Boyle lays it down as now being a fantasy. This definitely sounds like the beginning of a farewell.
It almost seems like Boyle is voicing out our own sad sentiments at having to say goodbye to the Nine-Nine. Here’s the trailer, dated July 29.
But of course, neither the Nine-Nine nor we are going to let go without strapping in for a final rollercoaster ride. The trailer invites us on a journey of crisis, chaos and an attempt at responsible parenting. (Key word, attempt).
The trailer teases footage from the new season patched up with memorable scenes from the previous ones. Expect to see the precinct to deal with multiple Scullys and Hitchcocks, appearances of baby Mac Peralta, the return of Doug Judy and more. Can we make a prayer circle for one final heist?
The trailer ends with an MCU-esque logo highlighting the faces of each character. Cue power poses. Melissa Fumero who plays our resident Miss Binders Amy Santiago promised that Brooklyn Nine-Nine will have a very satisfying ending.
With less than two weeks to go, we still don’t know what route this ending might take. And we’re not complaining — we’re ready to be surprised and left with happy tears when the final season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine begins airing on August 12. No doubt, no doubt.
