The Marvels, the upcoming sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, already seems more promising than its predecessor.
Fans have to wait till 2023 before the film comes out, but that hasn’t kept star Brie Larson from building the hype by posting a sneak peek of, what could be, the official logo for the film.
Larson took to social media to post a picture of a fiery-colored pendant and simply captioned it, 2-17-2023, the release date for the sequel.
The symbol on the pendant has three different elements, or more precisely, logos blending together. Captain Marvel’s Star is the outermost symbol, with Monica Rambeau’s Spectrum logo inside it. Ms. Marvel’s “S” like design slashes across the Spectrum, completing the trio’s symbol.
This is similar to the updated title, which had also incorporated all three superheroes’ symbols. However, that one has galactic blue hues replacing the classic orange-gold Captain Marvel colors.
Although the plot details haven’t been revealed yet, we know Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel will team up with Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau/Spectrum and Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.
There’s a secret Easter egg in the pendant that reveals the heroes will have/develop a similar bond in the film like they did in the comics.

Updates have been scarce, and the accidental ones haven’t revealed much either. However, we know that after their debut on the Ms. Marvel series, the whole Khan family might appear in The Marvels alongside Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury.
It was recently confirmed that Korean actor Park Seo-joon (Parasite) will be joining the MCU with The Marvels, although which character he’ll be portraying remains to be seen.
The Marvels is currently set for a release on February 17, 2023, but before that, Kamala will make her debut in Ms. Marvel on Disney+ sometime in mid-2022.
