Bridgerton Season 4: New Cast, Latest News, and Everything We Know

Back in 2021, Bridgerton received a fourth-season renewal. The news was hardly shocking given the success of the Netflix series based on historical romance author Julia Quinn’s books. With Season 3 now concluded, we can shift our attention to Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), the show’s perpetual bachelor, whose season four narrative will center on his quest for a partner.

Quinn’s series has a slightly different order now that the Netflix drama is out. Though Bridgerton decided to adapt the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, for Season 3 to tell Polin’s story first, Benedict is the main character in Book 3, An Offer from a Gentleman. Benedict deserves to take center stage at last.

Here is everything we currently know about Bridgerton Season 4, such as the release date, the main characters, the new romantic lead, and the returning cast.

On September 16, Netflix revealed that the fourth season of Bridgerton is now in production. A first-look image of our new leads, Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) and Yerin Ha (who will play Sophie Baek), together was shared by the streamer. In addition, Netflix released a list of the actors joining the Season 4 cast; further details are provided in the cast section below.

When is Bridgerton Season 4 coming out?

Sadly, Bridgerton plans to come back as soon as possible in 2026. Brownell provided the Season 4 timeline information to The Hollywood Reporter in June 2024. “We’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range,” she explained. “We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language.” As of September 16, at least, production has begun!

Who will be the focus of Bridgerton Season 4?

The Bridgerton sibling that will be the main subject of Season 4 has finally been revealed: Finding the right partner is Benedict Bridgerton’s priority. In Season 3, he informed Hannah New’s character Lady Tilley Arnold, that he wasn’t looking to settle down.

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, the fourth season of Bridgerton centers on bohemian second son Benedict. Benedict is unwilling to settle down, even though his older and younger brothers are contentedly married. That is until he attends his mother’s masquerade ball and meets the alluring Lady in Silver.”

In September, Netflix revealed additional details about this Lady in Silver: “Sophie Baek has been compelled to work as a maid for the most demanding employer in the ton for a significant portion of her life. Even though Sophie’s circumstances will drastically change after dressing up to attend Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball, the resourceful Sophie perseveres through them.

Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek

Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, will be the leading lady of season four (silver). The actor will soon be seen in the Frank Herbert prequel series Dune: Prophecy and as the lead character Mia in the upcoming Australian Netflix drama The Survivors. She is best known for her role as Kwan Ha in the videogame TV adaptation Halo.

Katie Leung as Lady Araminta Gun

Scottish actor Katie Leung, who most recently starred in the BBC thriller Nightsleeper, will portray the mother of the Li sisters, Lady Araminta. Leung is known for playing Cho Chung in the Harry Potter film series. Leung is also seen in several geek-friendly drama series, including The Wheel of Time and The Peripheral, as DC Ferguson in the crime drama Annika. Will her Bridgerton persona be a Fairy Godmother or a Wicked Stepmother?

Here’s the official description: “Twice married and twice widowed, Araminta has two girls debuting on the marriage mart this season and is feeling the pressure to get at least one of them married off. Fabulous, discerning, and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything — or anyone — threatens her standing in society.”

Michelle Mao as Rosamund Li

Rosamund Li intends to court Benedict Bridgerton this season, but true love is not always easy to find. In other words, she will be this season’s very attractive but ugly sister. Actor Michelle Mao, whose credits include the English-language Sweet Home, Metal Lords, Surfside Girls, Goosebumps 2023, and many more, will portray Rosamund.

This is how her character is officially described: Araminta’s most cherished possession, Rosamund, is her eldest daughter. She is stunning, arrogant, and driven to please her mother. This season, Rosamund has her sights set on Benedict Bridgerton, and she won’t give up.

Isabella Wei as Posy Li

Isabella Wei will portray Posy, the younger and kinder of the two Li sisters. Those who braved the recent remake of the cult 1990s film The Crow may have seen Wei as Zadie, while fans of Netflix’s perplexing mystery series 1899 will remember her as Ling Yi.

This is the official description of her character: The considerably sweeter Posy, Rosamund’s younger sister, also makes her debut this year. But because Posy frequently puts her foot in her mouth due to her chatty and overly friendly demeanor, her mother rarely highlights Posy.

Masali Baduza as Michaela Stirling

Michaela Stirling, played by Baduza, is a character we have already met. She is a major character in Francesca Bridgerton’s ongoing story and is a gender-flipped version of her book role as Michael Stirling, John’s cousin. In addition to starring with Viola Davis and Lashana Lynch in the film The Woman King, you may recognize Baduza as the main character Sephy from the TV adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s Noughts + Crosses books.

Araminta Will be One of Bridgerton’s Notorious Villains

The fact that Sophie is the illegitimate daughter of the Earl serves as a powerful negotiating tool during one of the most exciting and action-packed scenes in any Bridgerton book—the conclusion of An Offer from a Gentleman—when Benedict and Violet can prevent Sophie from being deported against Araminta’s wishes. Sophie remained out of Araminta’s sight until she departed from the Bridgerton home due to her altercation with Benedict in An Offer from a Gentleman.

Nevertheless, Araminta wasted no time in accusing Sophie of stealing as soon as she laid eyes on her. She was seeking retribution for Sophie’s audacity in defying her, attending the masquerade ball years prior, and having to put up with her after marrying the Earl.

Even if Sophie doesn’t know that Araminta is the Earl’s illegitimate daughter, her hatred and decisions make her one of the most compelling antagonists in the Bridgerton books. The potential tension between Sophie and Araminta could make Bridgerton season 4 one of the most exciting and dramatic in the series.
