Earlier there were mysteries to the Karma Seals and why Jigen wants a vessel so severely. But before that, let’s talk about chapter 10 of the manga (episode 65 in the anime) when Boruto got a Karma Seal on his right palm after he dealt a deadly blow to Momoshiki.
In the ending of the Kawaki Arc, Jigen deduced that Momoshiki chose a new vessel in Boruto. It sounds crazy but makes a lot of sense in context of why Momoshiki appeared to Boruto in chapter 30. The Seal slowly eats away the psyche of their murderers to completely possess their body, which could very-well explain as to why Jigen needs a vessel so badly.
This was confirmed by Boro in Chapter 40 when he says, “Boruto, son of Hokage, and Momoshiki’s vessel. I’m happy. I got to meet you…I haven’t been this happy since Kawaki first showed up.” He further adds that they are not worried about the time limit anymore, the true meaning of this statement is still unknown though.
It might mean that Boruto buys them time as he’s an option for being a vessel…or do they have something else in mind? This, along with Kara, now bring more concerned about Boruto having this power will surely attract a lot of new and exciting fights in the upcoming episodes!
