Code makes a return as the village begins taking measures in episode 287 of Boruto titled “Claw Marks”

As traces of Claw Marks begin showing up around the village, it is investigated that Code is likely back and going to target some of the Leaf’s most vital soon. However, before taking them on in battle, he has another mission.

Boruto and Kawaki talk about Karma and their current situation; they are severely underpowered but will need to take on the Inner in battle. For that, they must begin training as soon as possible.

Episode 288 Speculation

The next episode will likely have Boruto and Kawaki training in preparation for the fight with Code, and the rest of the Leaf begin to start taking measures to find Code and possibly launch an attack on him before he removes his limiter.

We will also see what Eida’s powers are, as she seems completely unfazed by Code’s attack and carries the knowledge of the entire world with her. She may be the true villain of the arc, while Code remains a red herring.

Recap of Episode 287

The beginning of the new arc begins with Otsutsuki passing on his will to another of his followers, Code, and entrusting him to kill Boruto or Kawaki and using them to cultivate the Divine Tree.

Sai and Shikamaru come into contact with Code’s claw marks and confirm with Kawaki that he has finally returned yet again, and we see Code power through the snow and make his way into a secret base through force.

He easily evades all their attacks and takes out the entire frontier without breaking a sweat. Kawaki explains his powers to Boruto since they will eventually have to take him on in battle. One of the stronger guards comes out to kill Code and injects himself with a serum to be stronger.

Code evades his attacks one by one and outpowers him using his bare fists this time, but the guard injects even more of the serum and transforms into a monstrous-looking form, becoming both faster and more robust.

It is nowhere close to taking on Code in battle, who clears the floor with them and kills them all. The village begins taking measures to protect the most critical people and potential targets for Code.

At his current power, Code cannot take on the village but will probably go and try to take his limiter off first. He goes to Bug and asks to be taken to Eida, much to his worry. Kawaki tells Boruto that they must stop him at all costs.

Considering that he is no one’s vessel and contains Karma too, he is much too different from any of the other Inner, making him one of their most dangerous foes. Boruto does not falter, however, and says that he will take him out.

Code stands before Eida and talks about his history with Jigen and Boro and how he even knows Eida. He unlocks the cage, and she walks out and meets some new faces.
