Sasuke deduces the mystery of Meno in episode 284 of Boruto titled, “Sasuke’s Story: The Secret in the Cellar.”

As Sakura and Sasuke launch an elaborate plan of trickery to fool Zansul and sneak into his cellar, it almost fails because of Sasuke’s boldness in sneaking past the door in plain vision. However, his wife is there to back him up.

The mystery of the cellar finally makes sense to Sasuke, and the forbidden jutsu that brings back the dead is once more in play. Dragon beasts that should be extinct are now roaming the field under genjutsu, and only Sasuke has the power to break through.

Episode 285 Speculation

Zansul will likely have to face Sasuke in battle now that he has discovered his secret and understood why so many dragon beasts roam the land. His victory is assured after Sasuke has also figured out how to break the genjutsu.

Moreover, Sakura could also get involved in the fight to give her husband backup when needed. Zansul’s only major threat is his large army of dragon beasts, which seem to be evolving daily.

Recap of Episode 284

Sakura and Sasuke conclude the puzzle and deduce the meaning behind the paintings. The final solution, however, is probably in Zansui’s room, and now they must face the task of sneaking into there.

One of Sasuke’s cellmates has figured out the timing at which Meno reaches their cell, and he even teases it a little. Ganno gathers his courage and pets it, and another cellmate goes to pet it but is immediately attacked since he puts his foot outside the cell.

Sakura escorts a government official visitor to Zansul’s office and extracts some information from him, but he needs to be made aware of the details, being just a messenger. She leads him to an ambush, and Sasuke puts him under genjutsu.

She has also figured out why Zansul cannot be put under genjutsu due to his artificial eye. Sakura takes the form of the messenger, enters his office, plays the disguise very well, and even scans the room.

Sasuke, who has taken the form of the cane, manages to roll into the cellar room and uses his chakra control to find the pattern of the key and create a decoy key. Sakura continues to distract him and buy time for Sasuke to enter the cell.

As Sasuke reaches the basement, he finds a large number of chickens. Sakura finishes up her conversation and leaves the rest to Sasuke. He has deduced that what has been happening so far was nothing more than Reincarnation, which explains the existence of Meno.

He tries to overwrite the jutsu and tame the beast so it listens. He talks to Meno, tries to convince him to give him his help, and infuses his chakra through its tongue, thus overwriting the genjutsu.

Meno wakes up, now at Sasuke’s command, and he orders it back home and rest. Meanwhile, Zansul transforms yet another chicken into a reanimated dragon beast.
