Episode 259 Recap
Episode 259 of Boruto is titled “A Wound That Never Heals.” A criminal has been reported to be assaulting retiring Shinobi, and Team 7 has been dispatched to apprehend him.
After these attacks, the attackers leave a large X on the victims’ clothing. While the victim is still searching for the attacker, another victim is attacked. Team 7 meets with detectives at the local police station to discuss the details of the case.
Ex-ninjas skilled in wind-style Jutsu are the only targets of the assailant. They agreed to continue their nightly patrols after being requested to do so.
After being allowed out of the station, Boruto and Sarada complained about their lack of sleep. Mitsuki becomes distracted when he sees an older woman holding a cat that looks somewhat like his own.
After arriving in Kirigakure, Mikazuki, the cat, has not been seen since they came. After a few hours of sleep and reassurance from his buddies, he is ready to face the world again.
Instead of returning home, Mitsuki enters a store to inquire about his missing cat. Even though he has no idea where the cat is, the man assures Mitsuki that he will contact him if the animal is found. The store owner helps an older woman handle a large package while shopping.
Mikazuki returns to episode 259 of Boruto after a long absence. On the same day, Mitsuki searches for his lost cat at a park. In the distance, a young woman is playing the flute, and he turns to see her holding the instrument. The acoustic escalation in Mikazuki’s song causes her to appear in front of Mitsuki.
The girl is thrilled when Niboshi, the cat, catches her eye, calling him by his Japanese name. Mitsuki explains to her that Mikazuki is the cat’s actual name, but she is hesitant to accept it. As soon as Orochimaru calls him, Mikazuki goes to the child, confirming that he is Mitsuki’s feline friend.
The young woman is initially shocked by the news but soon realizes that she has been caring for the cat all along. Mikazuki is free to continue seeing Mitsuki whenever she desires. She has been in Konoha for a year, and the girl is envious of the animal’s freedom.
Since then, she has relied on her brother for assistance, so she has no freedom. They met her older brother, who introduced himself to them on their way home.
Mitsuki leaves the kitten with the girl when her brother turns against her so she won’t have to deal with his wrath at home. She is advised by her brother not to make friends with a ninja.
Another scene shows Team 7 gathered on a rooftop at night. While they wait, they hear the scream of another victim. The offenders are identified as two crooks wearing masks. Mitsuki can injure one of them with his Kunai when he pursues them.
Mitsuki notices a drop of blood on the floor when he gets to the cart that the girl’s older brother was toting earlier that day. He keeps this knowledge from his squad to prevent them from discovering that the siblings are the real criminals.
The screen shows the girl and her brother coming to their home to treat her wounds. She asks her brother whether they should quit, to his dismay.
As her brother points out, it has been a long time since they have gone from town to town in search of their goal. He will be able to restore normalcy to her life after the final person is attacked.
The police haven’t located the criminals yet, so ex-wind-style Shinobi are flocking to the station. Team 7 tells the chief of police about the events of the previous night while he is in the building. A smokey odor emanates from the victim’s clothing, which may be a gas used by the crooks to knock them out.
While the shop owner assures him that he primarily works in the office, he appears concerned after the client leaves because the newspaper covered the issue.
A man walks out to remove the garbage and throws a rock near Mikazuki as he scratches a flowerpot in front of his business, exposing his sinister side.
