Episode 230 of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations starts with Kawaki and Mozuku, looking for Kurobane, who took the medicine.
When they find him, Kurobane uses his water vapor ninjutsu to weaken his enemies. In the fight, Mozuku sacrifices himself to save Kawaki and gives him his sack of money to take the medicine to his village. I’m not crying, you are.
After completing his mission, Kawaki ends up in the hospital, and when he does recover, he leaves through the window because why make people’s jobs easier by signing discharge papers?
Episode 231 Speculations
Our brooding boy, Kawaki, finally becomes a genin, and we couldn’t be happier. Not that it makes any difference to how powerful he is, it’s just an official step ahead, which will also make him a team player, hopefully.
We still don’t know which team he will be assigned to. God help us if it is on Boruto’s team. The bickering will never end. Will he get a new team altogether?

Episode 230 Recap
Mozuku and Kawaki run through the forest, searching for clues of where that medicine stealing murderer might be.
Shikamaru briefs Naruto about the situation, and he orders reinforcements to be sent to Shikadai’s team. A messenger tells Mitsuki that they’re to assist team ten on their mission to the land of calm seas.
They go out to meet them and find that Cho-Cho is injured. Shikadai tells them that Kawaki went with the client alone ignoring orders and protocol.
He and Mozuku look for Kurobane and find him making off with the medicine. Kurobane uses “Ninja Art: Infinite Sea Watchtower,” which engulfs them in a fog and obscures him.
The fog also dehydrates and weakens them. Kawaki can’t even touch him at first but blows fire through his mouth, clearing the mist and revealing Kurobane’s position. Kawaki hits him, and he falls to the ground.
He throws a blade at Kawaki with his blood strings, and Mozuku shields him with his body. Kawaki is traumatized by his death and is tasked with transporting the medicine to the doctor.
He faints because of the stress, and as soon as he recovers in the hospital, he tries to leave through the window unnoticed.
Shikadai spots him and takes him to the shinobi cemetery. He teaches him about teamwork and fighting for the greater good. In the end, Kawaki is declared to have passed the test.
