Episode 217, titled ‘Decision,’ was one of the most important episodes of the series so far. We saw Naruto unveiling his most unique form to date called ‘Baryon mode.’
To add, the episode also featured the most amazing and flashy battle between Naruto and Isshiki as they exchanged attacks.
The mode had the disadvantage of exhausting all of Naruto’s chakra until he dies, but Naruto decided to go for it as it would deplete Isshiki’s lifespan as well. Later, Kawaki was teleported in front of Isshiki as Naruto’s chakra started to vanish.
After Naruto and Isshiki had hand-to-hand combat with each other, Isshiki only had five minutes remaining to embed another karma on Kawaki. The episode ended with a cliffhanger when Kawaki surrendered himself to Isshiki.
Will Isshiki be able to take over Kawaki’s body? Or does some other hurdle await him? Let’s find out.

Episode 218 Preview and Speculations
A lot happened in episode 217 of Boruto. It appears like the price to pay for the sudden power-up was quite expensive since it used up both Naruto and Kurama’s life force.
Nevertheless, Naruto managed to absorb Isshiki’s lifespan, decreasing it from 20 hours to just half an hour, which would be a great help, I believe.
In the next episode’s preview, Isshiki Kawaki surrendered himself to Isshiki, thinking that a world without Naruto is of no worth to him. Isshiki holds him tight, and I guess he is trying to embed another Karma on Kawaki.
Considering Kawaki doesn’t want to fight back, being under the illusion that he is saving Naruto by surrendering himself, it feels like Isshiki will manage to embed karma in Kawaki unless the time runs out for him.
Well, it’s difficult to predict what will happen next, and we look forward to the next episode to see how the plot will take on from here. Also, as a big Naruto fan, I hope the next episode will not disappoint us by showing him dying.
Episode 218 Release Date
Episode 218 of the Boruto (2021) anime, titled “Partner”, has been released on Sunday, Oct 03, 2021.
Since this anime runs on a weekly schedule, new episode releases are seven days apart.

Episode 217 Recap
Naruto transforms to a new never-seen-before chakra mode and gains an immense speed. Kurama reveals that both his and Naruto’s chakra will get consumed as the raw material to create that massive energy until one or both of their lives get consumed.
Kurama calls it ‘Baryon mode’ and asks Naruto not to use any unnecessary moves. Naruto surpasses Isshiki’s power, leaving him wondering about how he powered up so fast. Naruto even tracks Isshiki’s chakra-absorbing rods with his senses.
After fighting Isshiki for a while, Isshiki lies on the ground, and Naruto approaches him when suddenly he feels something in the chest. Meanwhile, in the Leaf village, Kawaki notices his prosthetic hand glowing up and realizes that Naruto’s chakra is weakening.
Naruto suddenly collapses, making Isshiki realize that his intense power is a result of some sort of sacrificial gamble. He stands up and walks towards Naruto but starts coughing blood.
Naruto thinks back to when Kurama told him that the power would reduce the life of the person he will come in contact with since all the chakra is connected. At the same time, Isshiki realizes that he has only half an hour left.
As the battle between the two intensifies, Isshiki finally gets hold of Naruto and tries to choke him. All of a sudden, Kawaki is teleported from the Leaf village right in front of Naruto and Isshiki.
Isshiki realizes that he has only five minutes left and runs to catch Kawaki, who tries escaping. Isshiki catches Kawaki, but Sasuke replaces himself with Kawaki. Sasuke asks Kawaki to hide and sets a smokescreen with the mineral dust so that Isshiki wouldn’t be able to locate Kawaki with ‘Byakugan.’
Frustrated, Isshiki bombards the entire place with chakra-absorbing rods, but Kawaki manages to escape them. Next, Isshiki threatens to kill Naruto and starts counting. Kawaki recalls how Jigen abused him for years until Naruto saved him and decides to surrender himself to Isshiki.
