Over the past couple of weeks, most of the world has been put on lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic. First large social gatherings were prohibited, and now only essential places are open to help flatten the curve.
The world of anime and manga is no exception with many production houses temporarily shutting down, causing delays for many titles.
Recently, One Piece and Pokemon’s anime announced that new episodes would not be released for the time being.
Following their lead, Boruto: Naruto Next Generation’s official Twitter announced that the Boruto anime is also going on a temporary hiatus to implement social distancing. This comes as no surprise as many publications and studios are being shut down till this pandemic is under control.

https://t.co/LOq6SUAorL
The tweet reads:
“[Broadcast Information] Due to the government’s announcement of an emergency situation for new coronavirus infectious diseases, broadcasting will be postponed from May 3 (Sun). Due to the postponement of the broadcast schedule, it will be broadcast from May on the first episode “Uzumaki Bolt !!”. Episode 154 on Sunday, April 26, will be broadcast as usual.”

Fans were, of course, very supportive of this decision as they don’t want more people to succumb to this disease.
Please stay safe 🙏

Looks like starting May 3, Boruto will be re-broadcasting older episodes starting from episode 1! This could be a good opportunity for fans to catch up on the story if they haven’t had time to do so before.
