The Hokages are informed about the looming Kara enemy, Code, and they try to come up with a plan about Boruto’s otsutsukification.

Sasuke asks Naruto if he’s ready to “do the right thing” or not because no matter what, Sasuke will not let Momoshiki take over even if he has to kill.

Amado becomes an advisor, Kawaki gets a new arm, which as Sumeri remarks, he could’ve acted happier about it. Most importantly, Boruto gets pills that would stop his otsutsukification. The previous episode ended on a hopeful note.

There is also the question of new villain characters being introduced for the next big arc, since Code is practically the only one playing the antagonist now, and his powers simply do not merit his being a one man army. Since his powers aren’t enough to bring the good guys down, fans can expect new antagonists.

Episode 220 Recap

Naruto is seen having a conference discussing transfer portals linked to the Kara hideout in another dimension, and all of them had been found destroyed. The Hokages get down to business and ask Naruto what he will do about his almost-otsutsuki son. Naruto assures them he’ll do the needful even if it means killing his son. Since Naruto can’t fight as before, Gaara suggests dealing with it before something happens.

Amado fits Kawaki with a new and better prosthetic arm made from Kawaki’s cells. Katasuke wishes for Amado to be made advisor because of his impeccable work. He later tells Naruto that Boruto only has half a year or, at worst, a few weeks left as himself.

Naruto and Sasuke are seen having a conversation where Sasuke basically tells him that even if he can’t kill his son, Sasuke will do it for him. Naruto, of course, isn’t exactly pleased with this assurance.

Sasuke asks him to tell Boruto about the whole situation, and Naruto gets visibly angry. Boruto’s friends also find out he hasn’t been sleeping to keep Momoshiki from taking over his consciousness.

Later, Naruto and his son have a heart-to-heart where he tells Boruto about the otsutsuki situation. Still, he promises that he will protect him no matter what, even if he has to sacrifice himself. Touched by this, he lets all the tension go and immediately falls asleep.

Amado arrives on the scene and hands him pills that he had made for weakening Byakugan, but Boruto can have them to stop his otsutsukification. Still, it won’t reverse any damage already done and an unknown number of side effects like even death.

Naruto gives Boruto the chance to choose for himself and gulps one down without a thought. He goes for a burger with friends, no longer as worried.

Kawaki returns his previous arm to Naruto and he asks Kawaki if he wants to become the genin for their village, and he says he’ll think about it.
