In chapter 71 of Boruto, if Eida wanted to be close to Kawaki, there was absolutely no reason for her to have collaborated with Code, who is Kawaki’s enemy and wants to end the world.
Even if Shikamaru was planning something, he had in fact made her a completely reasonable and good offer: joining Konoha would allow her to be near Kawaki and have a more regular life, as she had no interest in destroying the world for the sake of some worthless religion.
Perhaps this is why they take the chance of making Code into a massive Otsutsuki menace that lurks in the background.

1. Chapter 72 Discussion
Due to Amado’s deceptions, we witnessed how former allies Eida and Code had turned against one other. It is also true, though, that Eida wanted to get rid of Code as well since Shikamaru had made her a higher deal in order for her to be near to Kawaki.
She may freely join forces with Konoha now that he isn’t around to obstruct her efforts to be with Kawaki. It follows that she will undoubtedly visit her country home together with her brother Daemon in the future.
Additionally, we learned that Kawaki has a code that Amado installed in him that allows him to shut him down. It has thus been evident that he is utilizing Kawaki for his personal benefit.
Code will divulge another truth in the upcoming chapter, one that he must inform everyone in Konoha. We are thus keen to learn more. The final antagonist in the manga, however, may turn out to be Code since he made a promise to exact retribution, but first, he needs to become powerful enough because he is weaker than Daemon.

5. Chapter 71 Recap
In chapter 71 of Boruto, Code is still hunting Amado. Due to his target status, he won’t show mercy to him. To make Eida unsure of killing him, the scientist addresses her, knowing he doesn’t have a chance against him. Back in the chapter, Daemon is getting ready to take on Code. Eida appreciates Code for waking her awake, but he no longer applies to her. Despite Code’s declaration of love for Eida, she does not alter her decision.
Daemon must vanish if Code is to remain close to her and serve as her sole knight. Bug shouts out Daemon’s vulnerability as the two cyborgs get ready to battle. Code grows overconfident after learning that he can only reflect assaults from someone touching his palms.
He was shocked to see that Daemon was far more powerful and swift than he was. The tiny boy appears familiar with Code’s every move, as he cannot land a single hit. Code is even stronger than Jigen, Naruto, and Sasuke, according to Daemon. However, he remains the best, so that is not an issue.
Code begins to leave their sanctuary after realizing he has been defeated. Before leaving, he has one more conversation with Eida before taking Bug.
Like Isshiki requested, he will grow a Divine Tree and take the oath of an Ohtsutsuki. Then and only then will he realize whether he loves Eida or desires her death.
Eida confronts Amado after Code leaves and acknowledges his cunning thinking. He had to tell Eida what he knew to maintain his breathing since she was eager to understand what he was referring to. In an unidentified place, where Code is conversing with Bug is close to an end. The older adult is upset Code dragged him away from the cover. While Kawaki’s name is being cursed, Code is more worried.
He commits to killing everything and everyone he cares about: his family, his house, and his valuables. The last panel of chapter 71 of Boruto reveals Code’s scheme to obliterate Konoha.
