Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga faced a lot of discredit when it began. Confronted by the colossal expectations of the fans, Boruto had a hard time proving its individuality when compared to Naruto.
However, the manga has come a long way since then with an array of interesting characters. One such character is the topic of today’s discussion — the true identity of the man named Kashin Koji.
Boruto, chapter 45, titled “Defection,” came out recently. After Amado and Koji betray Kara, Koji goes off to fight Jigen. At the end of the chapter, Kashin Koji’s statement, “I was created to kill you,” hints at him being a clone of Jiraiya!
Let’s talk more about that! – I have other theories as well, so stay tuned and go through with the entire article!
Who is Kashin Koji?
Kashin Koji, started as a member of the evil organization — Kara, has now become a man with a lot of mysteries. One of them being his true identity itself.
Since his introduction, Koji’s identity has raised a lot of questions. His facial marks, the fire-type jutsus, and the summoning contract with the toads of Mt. Myoboku all pointed towards one thing — Is Kashin Koji Jiraiya? Is Jiraiya-sensei alive?
Why Can’t Kashin Koji Be Jiraiya Himself?
After a thorough analysis of Kashin Koji’s body stature, voice patterns, height, and age, we concluded that Kashin Koji is not Jiraiya, but his son.
All of Kashin Koji’s traits hint at him being quite a bit younger than Jiraiya’s supposed age.
Even keeping his age aside, we saw Kashin killing a comrade shortly after his introduction. In essence, even for the sake of the mission, I firmly believe Jiraiya would never do such a despicable act.
In short, it is sad and hard to accept, but the pervy-sage is not coming back.
How can Koji be Jiraiya’s clone?
While this is a theory that was initially farfetched, after chapter 45, it does have the potential of filling all the gaps!
At the end of chapter 45, Kashin Koji says to Jigen, “I have no interest in Chakra Fruit, I was created to kill you!“
Kashin Koji, being “created,” hints strongly towards the process of body remodification or even cloning. The reason this theory makes sense is because of Koji’s partner-in-crime, Amado.
We all know that Amado is a brilliant scientist; he has modified the body of all Kara members with his scientific prowess. So much so that he was able to simply transfer Delta’s consciousness and “data” into another body after Naruto defeated her.
If Kashin Koji is a clone of Jiraiya himself, everything would make sense including, fire-type Jutsu, stature, voice, young age, the contract with toads of Mt. Myoboku.
Judging from Amado’s previous feats, it is not a stretch to say that he can easily pull something like this off without breaking a sweat. Moreover, if he can reprogram his clones, that can explain Kashin Koji’s attack on a fellow Kara member.
At the moment, these are just theories and speculations, we will just have to wait and see how things pan out as the manga continues further.
Based on the end of the chapter, we will likely see some development on the matter in chapter 46.
