The multiverse is a concept that has always piqued our attention. Yomiji Otono has used this concept to create ‘Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e’ and ‘Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e’, two sensational romances that will blow your mind.
I know you’re wondering how on earth can a sci-fi concept, like the parallel worlds, fit into a romantic story? Well, that’s how Otono’s magic works, and it has already put many people under its spell.
The upcoming anime film adaptation of Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e and Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e has already gained hype due to its unique concept. We can barely wait for its October 7 premiere.
Both the films have revealed new teasers to show how the parallel worlds play a crucial part in these two love stories. The teaser highlights portions of both worlds, indicating that they are intertwined.
The first teaser is of Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e (To Every You I’ve Loved Before). It follows Koyomi Takasaki and his classmate Kazune Takigawa. Koyomi is a socially awkward high schooler who wants to make friends in his new college prep classes.
One day, Kazune approaches him and reveals that she’s from World Line 85, or a parallel world where she and Koyomi are lovers. The teaser shows them growing close and eventually getting married, and as the video concludes, it shows Shiori Sato.
The second teaser is of Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e (To The Solitary Me That Loved You). This one centers on Koyomi Hidaka and Shiori Sato, a girl he met in his father’s research lab. Koyomi and Shiori are instantly attracted to each other and fall in love.
However, their dreams are shattered when Koyomi’s father and Shiori’s mother decide to marry each other. They then travel to other worlds where they’re not step-siblings to be with each other.
The teaser shows Koyomi and Shiori’s innocent high school love and the inevitable heartbreak that they suffer.
Other than some unparalleled love stories to cry over, the movies will also show how a single choice can drastically change futures. In one story, Koyomi decides to live with his mother after his parents’ divorce, and in the other, he decides to go with his father.
This one choice led to him being a completely different person in both worlds, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out.
