The Mandalorian season 3 seems to be hinting at an epic confrontation between two prominent characters – Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze.
Bo-Katan, who was once a part of Death Watch, held the prestigious position of the regent of Mandalore and was also the rightful possessor of the Darksaber until the Empire’s attack. But now, Moff Gideon is in possession of the legendary weapon. As Din Djarin currently holds the Darksaber, it is unclear how Bo-Katan perceives him, given their history as allies.
The latest trailer for The Mandalorian season 3, shared by the show’s official Twitter account, highlights Djarin’s quest to Mandalore. In the season 2 finale, Djarin revealed his face after removing his helmet, and in The Book of Boba Fett, the Armorer urged him to head back to his home world to seek forgiveness for his actions. However, when Djarin and Grogu reach Mandalore, they encounter Bo-Katan Kryze, who brings some unsettling news for them.

It appears that Bo-Katan is displeased with Djarin, possibly because of the current condition of Mandalore, and this could be the cause of her resentment towards him.
Bo-Katan appears visibly agitated as she informs Djarin that there is nothing left for him in Mandalore and advises him to return home. Her statement could be alluding to the severe destruction caused by the Empire during the Night of a Thousand Tears or could be targeted towards the Mandalorian mines, which is likely the reason for Djarin’s arrival. Whatever the case may be, Bo-Katan seems determined to get Mando to leave the planet without delay.
The Armorer reveals to Djarin that the key to his redemption lies in the living waters within the Mandalorian mines. Consequently, Djarin has no plans to leave Mandalore without finding what he seeks, despite Bo-Katan’s apparent hostility towards him.
Djarin’s possessed the Darksaber by defeating Moff Gideon, unintentionally preventing Bo-Katan from reclaiming the weapon which could have helped her bring the Mandalorian clans together. Now, the question remains whether Bo-Katan will permit Djarin to stay, given the complicated history between them.
Considering this, there is a high possibility that Bo-Katan might confront Djarin in the upcoming season if he chooses to stay on Mandalore. Bo-Katan may challenge him to claim the Darksaber, which she was entitled to, and not just receive it from Sabine Wren, as depicted in Star Wars Rebels. In any case, the latest trailer reveals that there will be intense friction between Bo-Katan and Djarin as they try to regain what they have lost.
