After the successful season one run of the popular manga and anime series Blue Lock, the series is returning with its highly anticipated season 2. Blue Lock season 2 was announced during AnimeJapan 2023, alongside a movie spin-off. The official Blue Lock PR press release announced the anime’s release window this year.
Updates on the Highly Anticipated Season 2 Of Blue Lock
Season 2 of Blue Lock has been confirmed to premiere in October 2024. The announcement was officially made by the official Blue Lock PR Twitter and released with a special illustration by the manga artist Yusuke Nomura.
The special illustration focuses on Isagi while Nagi and Reo, the leading characters of the spin-off movie Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, step out of the pitch, signaling that it’s Isagi’s time in the spotlight again.
Studio 8-bit, the animation studio for the first season, will also adapt season 2 of Blue Lock. Season 2 is expected to have 24 episodes, similar to the first season.
New Visual for Season 2 Released
Alongside the Blue Lock season 2 release date announcement, the key visual for the upcoming season was also released.
The key visual includes our protagonist, Isagi Yoichi, and the currently ranked number one Blue Lock striker, Itoshi Rin, with eyes focused on the ball.
What To Expect From Blue Lock Season 2
After making it through the final selection of Blue Lock in season one, Isagi Yoichi is closer to his goal of becoming the best striker. Blue Lock season 2 will adapt the thrilling U-20 Arc, undoubtedly giving us an electrifying showdown centering around Blue Lock’s number one, Itoshi Rin.
The true goal and the real face of the untouchable Itoshi Rin will be revealed as the Blue Lock Team faces off against the Japan U-20 team, with Rin’s older brother, Itoshi Sae, participating as the team’s star player.
The stakes will be reigning high as the loss of the match might result in the Blue Lock Project shutting down once and for all. Isagi, alongside the other Blue Lock players, has to give their best to survive and win against the current best of Japan.

‘Blue Lock: Episode Nagi’ is an upcoming anime film based on the manga of the same name by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Kota Sannomiya. It was launched on June 9, 2022, and is a spinoff of the original Blue Lock manga.
The story focuses on Seishiro Nagi, a character from Blue Lock who has a natural talent for soccer. The manga tells his story before he joined Blue Lock.
