3. Episode 22 Recap

Isagi analyses Rin’s goal because he believes Rin could only score from over Isagi because he was in the wall at the time of the free-kick. This made Isagi realize how important it was to look at himself through Rin’s eyes and study how he used Isagi’s weapons against him.

To get past Tokimitsu, Isagi used Barou, frustrating him. Isagi passed the ball across the field to Chigiri, who used his speed. Meanwhile, Isagi broke away from the other players and ran toward the near post for an open goal. Isagi was about to shoot the ball into the goal when Rin noticed his movements and ran over to block his shot.

Isagi then took a different stance and scored a goal on a back-heel direct shot. Isagi had devoured Rin after being able to outwit him. This goal astounded Bachira because he couldn’t believe how much Isagi had grown quickly. He’d finally found two monsters at Blue Lock but wasn’t good enough to play with them anymore.

As the final play began, the ball inadvertently reached Bachira, who could not decide in time and therefore lost the ball to Chigiri. Nagi warned Bachira that if he was trying to throw the game, he should not expect to be picked by Isagi because Isagi would pick Rin in his team. This broke Bachira’s heart as he reflected on how he had ended up in such a pitiful situation.

As a result, when Rin blocked Isagi’s shot, and Bachira received the ball, he went on a rampage. However, he refused any assistance from the monster because he wanted to play as freely as before. Bachira charged toward the goal alone and fired, but Isagi blocked it, knowing Bachira’s way of thinking.

5. About Blue Lock

Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since August 2018. Blue Lock won the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shōnen category in 2021.

The story begins with Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which prompts the Japanese Football Union to start a program scouting high school players who will begin training in preparation for the 2022 Cup.

Isagi Youichi, a forward, receives an invitation to this program soon after his team loses the chance to go to Nationals because he passed to his less-skilled teammate.

Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to “destroy Japanese loser football” by introducing a radical new training regimen: isolate 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called “Blue Lock”.
